Newport Role Playing Games club

Greetings to you all, both new and old players. My name is Alun Jackson and i started to club as a space for gamers to meet and play. If you have scanned the QR code on my posters, HOORAY! They worked.

I am not the most technical of Gen X'ers, but this page is really just to signpost the club, with meeting times and days, plus potential days where are not meeting (very rare that we do not run the club).

I do have resources i can bring along to the club and usually bring 40k and AoS scenary, as well as some combat patrols, spare dice, rulebooks etc. we play d&d but there are plenty of people wanting to run other systems (someone is running a 40k deathwatch campaign at the moment and i can run a few systems given a short run up)...

It is the last friday session of the year tonight, from 6.30pm at the Hub! feel free to drop in for a look, even if you are not playing. if you are new to TTRPG's and wargaming and are curious, come along and say hi!

for young people aged 11-18 (secondary school age), i run a painting club at the Hub in Newport on Wednesday afternoons from 3-5pm, where there are plenty of miniatures for you to get learning on, as well as brushes and paints, sent to us by Games Workshop. feel free to drop by to try your hand at painting.

We are running Friday evenings all the way up to the 19th of December, then a short break over the Christmas holidays, back on Friday 2nd January.
last week we had a d&d game and 3 warhammer 40k games. luckily, donations of old miniatures have allowed us to purchase neoprene mats for the club, as well as a box of scenery.

we are grateful to the mothers of the donating players for bringing in old figures. I have provided a number of Spearhead and Combat Patrol miniatures so there are plenty of options should you wish to play but do not yet have an army...

After a short break at the Hub due to refurbishment, the club is back in action from 6.30-9.30pm on Friday night, with several games of 40k/kill team and a campaign of ravenloft (currently at 7th level and about to start a classic adventure called 'castle Amber'). there are usually plenty of people to chat to if you are new to warhammer and RPG's so feel free to turn up and chat for a while if you want to know more.

if there are enough players interested, there may be a game of DEATHWATCH (a 40K space marine RPG) in the offing at some point...

We are now getting plenty of people at the club, with several games of Warhammer on the go at each meeting, plus a d&d adventure most weeks as well. if you feel like giving d&d a go, drop by as we run games that can be joined by new players.

after a weekend of Live Action Roleplay at Weston Park, with the great people of Curious Pastimes (30 years of LARPing next year), i am looking forward to getting back into playing the Dragon Delves one off adventures being run by one of our dungeon masters, Adam.

there are several warhammer 40k games going on, as part of a tournament, in case new players want to watch a game (first visit to the club is free).

We now have several regular Warhammer 40k games running and also a d&d game where players can drop in and join in with a set of adventures called DRAGON DELVES.
new players are always welcome and for young people between 11 and 18, there is a wednesday drop in holiday club for painting and assembling miniatures at the hub, from 2-5pm. we may start looking at simple Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40k games when people complete painting a unit...

Yay, i am back after a couple of weeks off on holiday (wedding anniversary and LARPing), so looking forwards to a game of D&D dragon delves. there is a 500 point Warhammer 40k league starting on 1st August, I believe. Information is on the Quest Keeper Discord Server.

I am looking forward to Friday and another busy evening of D&D. i believe there will be a 3 handed 40k game going on, with new players!
