And finally referees / MC’s play an important part of any county outfit.

They may not throw the darts but they control the room and are a vital part to keep the day running smoothly.

Darts offers many avenues to explore the game further with opportunities to move onto national organisation tournaments and were very proud to announce our two home match-day stage referees have also come through the local junior darts academy network.

We will also have a couple of young callers and markers in the making helping on our floor board matches at home games.

The Team behind The Team

Black Country Youth County Darts is about to enter its 4th competitive season.

The squad of very talented players are supported by an incredible team of individuals who dedicate a lot of their own time to allow young players to represent our little corner of the world in what is the greatest form of team darts, county matches.

We’d like to thank not only each member of the committee but all coaches / assistant coaches and volunteers across Black Countries Junior Academy network, without them, these players simply wouldn’t have had the platform to build from.

Later today we’ll be announcing our full squad for each of the Ladies, Under 18 and Under 21 sections for the 2026/2027 season

Yesterday BCYCD held our presentation for the 2025/2026 Season.

Players collected their keepsakes from their title winning season. We will post all our section and player award winners in a separate post.

We also previewed the upcoming season, ran through what’s been going on behind the scenes during the summer, including a major announcement for further development opportunities for players in the region starting with the youth county squad.

We unveiled the new matchday squad shirts, which were modelled by ladies section captain Mckenzie Raine Thomas and under 21 section player Olly Garratt

All other squad players will be receiving their shirts in the next fortnight, ahead of our first match vs Staffordshire on 13th September.

A massive thank you to Samba Darts Academy one of our under 18 section sponsors, who hosted yesterday, and indeed for their continued support of the county and youth darts in the region.

Photo credits to our good friend Dom Mason, who will also be helping us behind the scenes in some areas as we move into the new season.

Thank you also to Trevor from Willenhall in Focus who also joined us yesterday to see how youth county darts is continuing to succeed and develop further.

Today we announce affiliated sponsors who have kindly donated products to help the team over the next 12 months

Firstly we welcome and are grateful for support from Sportsnight Events & Memorabilia.

Who have very kindly donated 12 pieces of signed darts professional players memorabilia which we will be used for additional fundraising throughout the season.

Sportsnight don’t just cover darts, they’re well established with football, snooker and cricket. Not only do they have a plethora of signed memorabilia available to purchase on their website but they also hold several meet and greet events with former footballing legends, cricket heroes and past and present pro darts players.

BCYCD are very happy to confirm that Darting Promotions Ltd will be joining us from this season for the next 2 years as an official club sponsor.

Darting Promotions are the management company of a number of Pro, Challenge and Development Tour players. In addition to working and mentoring a number of players already through the junior avenues.
