-2s claim second win as Crediton negotiated-

With an almost identical result to last week our 2nd XV win hit fifty again whilst conceding just seventeen. A dominant eight try performance was enough to steer us past Crediton II and maintain our 100% start in Counties 2. Of the six teams that won on opening day only two met in Round 2 meaning we share top spot with four other sides with a perfect record. Next week will be a test of our credentials though when Exmouth II, one of those four sides yet to drop a point, are our opponents.

-Illness, injuries and inaccuracies as 1st XV escape Somerset with 3 points-

It took a late try to salvage a draw for Tops against a fired up and powerful Chew Valley side. With a mix of injuries and illness forcing us into changes from last week, some as late as the morning of, for the second game running we found ourselves two tries down early in the first half. This time though we were only able to level things as opposed to pull clear. At 31-17 down with twenty minutes to go and a game riddled with inaccuracies three points seemed a distant dream. However we battled hard and found a way to pull things back to 31-27 despite no clear periods of dominance. Chew nudged a penalty over and extended their advantage to 34-27. We then had a shot to reply but missed from the tee only for minutes later to get over the line with ball in hand before a nerveless conversion squared all things up. Three points on the road and no L in the column, it wasn't vintage but they're handy points on a day where we were probably second best. Next up a return to Bonfire Field for back to back home fixtures starting with Exmouth

📝Tempest attentions turn to the Cup as we face off against Plymouth Albion. Amongst the starting XV theres a debut for Millie Follett who'll play her first TRFC fixture since joining. Theres also returns to the side for the likes of Barnett, Currie and Clarke. A 14:00 kickoff for those wanting to join us at Brickfields for this inaugural meeting between the two teams

📝It took a bit of time to get going but our 1st XV fired into life to wrap up an opening day win against Lydney - next up a trip to Chew Valley. Four changes in the starting XV to the side that won at home a week ago. No Bryant, Barnaschone, Perry or Mattin. In comes Ashford, Ellery, Harding and Furner in their place. On the bench there's a debut for Tom Bottoms whilst in the starting lineup in the backrow Dom Ellery makes his first league start. Its also a momentous day for two familar faces with Lewis Webb making his 100th appearance for the 1st XV and Erin Inglis his 50th. Details of booking your spot on the bus to the game is still live so get your placed booked ASAP if you're interested in travelling to the match.

📝We wasted no time in getting up and running last time out against Withycombe and the 2nd XV are raring to go again. Crediton II have been a familar opponent for the 2s the past few seasons and a favourable one at that with five wins and no defeats accrued. Another such win would be very welcome as we look to build on a good start. Kickoff 15:00 with Prem Rugby on the TV, bar and food on the go too. Special shoutout to George Holwill who captains on his 50th 2nd XV appearance making him the first player (since records) to record 50 caps for the 2s and 100 for the 1st XV.
