A huge thank you and well done to everyone that took part and donated to the boys sponsored run a few weeks ago. Grassroots wouldn’t happen if it wasn’t for much needed sponsorship.🙏

Today’s game was from the off going to be tough. We had the bare 11 and our main coach was off sunning himself in Spain on a well deserved family holiday. We told the boys that they needed to just battle from the first whistle with no negativity or back chat to the ref. The boys started exactly how we wanted them too, they pressed and tackled and battled from the first whistle and we could see we had the opposition rattled with our constant battling. Jordan Taylor scored a great free kick in the fist half to get us in at halftime 1-0 up. The half time talk was just do the Same again and we win this game. The opposition used their subs well and we started to tire with a few injuries creeping in also but credit to the whole team they didn’t give up and dug in when needed. We had a few chances to get a 2nd but it didn’t come, but more importantly we kept them from having any real chances - our Keeper Chazza was there when called upon but as a collective the boys dug deep and did everything they could to keep a clean sheet. We ended up winning the game 1-0 which was amazing as last week against them we lost 6-2! Managers player of the game went to the whole team - honestly we couldn’t just single out one player as they all deserved the award. Parents player went to Charlie Green who was a rock on defence every time they tried to attack. Overall a very very good win and a superb team performance.
Thank you to our Sponsors Brixham Garage and Bayside for your continued support! Also thank you to all of the amazing support from all the parents. Special mention to Chris and Adam for stepping into coach the boys whilst Bobby was away. Next up Watcombe at Home in another big game.
Up the Upton!

WHAT A PERFORMANCE!
Today we faced a very strong WBB side and from previous meetings with them we all know they are all very good individual players who clearly have been drilled by the coaches for many years.
With players being out we knew that we had to work hard from the first whistle to the last.
We rotated the team and packed the midfield as we knew most traffic comes through the middle of the park for WBB.
As soon as we started the intensity, the battling, the drive and the energy was all too apparent. We played some great football and scored our first with an electric strike from Oscar W and minutes later Oaklie C went down clutching his ankle but the ref played on and Oscar W skipped a few tackles and put the ball into the bottom corner. Oaklie was replaced as it was obvious he could not continue.
Just as half time approached WBB win a free kick 20 yards out and slot it home!
1-2 at half time.
The team spoke about the momentum we had carried in the first half and we needed to maintain this to get some more goals.
We then started the second half with great passion and continued the battling we had produced so well in the first half.
We win a corner and a great delivery sees Lennie W side foot volley the ball into the net!
Now when I say I did not see this coming to people I was being honest.
10 minutes later Oscar W scored his 3rd of the day for his hat trick! 4-1 up and we all were all in ore of these lads!
But then our No1 goalkeeper goes down after a save and he cannot continue so now playing with an outfield player in goal and no more subs was going to be very hard for us to keep up the momentum so we sat back and absorbed the pressure which was being given to us!
WBB then claimed for a penalty which was 100% the correct decision from the ref to award a corner, the WBB keeper came sprinting out which resulted in him being sinbinned.
15 mins to go and we now started to stretch the opposition with our passing and moving.
Then another player from WBB got sinbinned.
All we had to do was stay strong but fatigue and energy levels where dropping.
We conceded a late two goals to end the game 4-3 to us!
Managers Player - Lennie W
Players Player - Oscar W.
