Team BOBBY BUCKLE enjoyed a fabulous night at the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust SPURS QUIZ hosted by the Antwerp Arms. However, after being joint 1st at halftime, our Team ended up 4th. Should have asked for a recount🤣 Having been at Wembley 45 years ago celebrating that famous FA Cup win, it seemed surreal standing together with Ossie & Ricky. That made our Quiz result a little more bearable! Will be back next year to take the number one spot, hopefully. Thanks to Rachel Martin, Roy Beck, Theo Delaney and all the crew for a great time and a very worthy cause in STUDIO 306 🐓

On this day April 27 1901, Tottenham Hotspur of Southern League Division One overcame all the odds to defeat Sheffield United 3-1 in an FA Cup Final replay at Burnden Park, Bolton.

Goals from John Cameron, Tom Smith and Sandy Brown saw Spurs come from behind that day to become the first, and still the only, non-league team to win football’s oldest and most famous cup competition – a feat unlikely to ever be repeated.
It will be no surprise to remember that in the first game Spurs were winning 2-1 when Clawley fumbled a shot. The linesman signalled a corner. The ref overruled him and awarded a goal kick. He then changed hi mind and gave a goal. Where was VAR in 1901?
The replay was due to be held at Goodison Park, but Liverpool objected as they were also at home that day and the FA chose Burnden Park, Bolton. The crowd of 20,740 was the lowest at any FA Cup final in the 20th century. Thousands of scones and pork pies were ordered for the big day, which was then thrown into chaos by the fact Bolton railway station was being redeveloped and that the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railways would not offer cheap train travel for the Tottenham supporters.
