Thruxton – A Weekend We Won’t Forget! 🏁
Mat arrived at Thruxton without even having sat in his March 712 until Saturday morning.
He headed out for practice to get to know both the car and the circuit, and what a job he did! In qualifying, despite the nerves, Mat put in a fantastic performance to secure 10th on the grid.
Race One:
The nerves were definitely there. Having never done a rolling start before, Mat absolutely nailed it! He enjoyed a great battle throughout the race with Richard Cooke and brought the car home safely in 10th place, holding his starting position.
Race Two:
Starting from 10th again, Mat was feeling much more relaxed. Another perfect rolling start set him up for a brilliant race, with close battles from start to finish. He crossed the line in an incredible 6th overall and 1st in class! 🏆
This result was a true team effort. None of this would have been possible without our amazing team and the incredible support we’ve received throughout the weekend.
Thruxton has given us memories we’ll never forget.

Silverstone!
We started the weekend strongly, with both George and Mat showing a positive attitude. In qualifying, Mat secured 13th place on his return to the Reynard and was feeling confident to be back behind the wheel. Following his recent accident, there appeared to be no effect on his driving at all. George qualified 17th and was aiming to make up positions in Race One.
When Race One got underway, George enjoyed a fantastic battle throughout the race. Unfortunately for Mat, his race was short-lived after sustaining damage on the opening lap, forcing him to retire. George battled hard and brought the car home in 12th place, although he wasn’t completely happy with the car’s performance. The team carried out checks and preparations ahead of Race Two.
Race Two soon arrived, with Mat watching from the sidelines. Starting from 12th on the grid, George once again wasn’t fully satisfied with the car but put on an excellent fight, enjoying a great battle with Alex Daly throughout the race.
Following further discussions and overnight work from the team, several ideas were put into action, parts were changed, and a few adjustments were made. We were hopeful of seeing Mat back on track in the Van Diemen that had previously raced at Brands Hatch. George was much happier with the car on Sunday morning.
Race Three arrived, and despite the tremendous efforts of everyone involved, Mat was unfortunately not permitted to race. It was a disappointing end to what could have been a very positive weekend for him. However, George lifted spirits by delivering another strong performance, finishing 11th overall and taking 1st place in class — a well-deserved reward for all the hard work put in by the team.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped and supported us throughout the weekend.
But… we had a little secret…
Charlie is back!
We look forward to seeing you all at Donington
