Tranent FC Youth

2017’s

3 teams out yesterday morning for the 2017s.....great effort and team work in our games against Musselburgh, Spartans and Arniston.

Players all showing how well they are developing at different levels.

U14’s Maroons

Our U14 Maroons lost 5-2 at home to Edinburgh United Green today. It was a fair result on the balance of play, and hopefully the boys will bounce back next weekend.

U16’s

Tranent U16s started their 2nd league game looking for their 1st win and it didn’t start well with Wallyford scoring the first 2 goals. 10 minutes in and 2 down 😒. However after a few missed opportunities Tranent eventually scored and Tranent started to settle into a better rhythm in both defence and attack. It wasn’t long before Tranent got their 2nd to level the game. Again there was some more squandered chances but eventually Tranent grabbed goals 3 & 4.

The start of the 2nd half and Tranent were caught sleeping and failed to clear their lines and a defensive lunge resulted in a Penalty to Wallyford. Thankfully our keeper kept up his penalty saving from last years cup final and pulled of a great save.
Tranent eventually settled down and took back control to grab another 3 goals and 3 points.

On to next week for the first away game against Vennie Utd!

2012’s

Tranent 2–0 Edinburgh South

Our positive start to the season continued today as we took all three points against a strong Edinburgh South side.

Both teams played some excellent football in an entertaining first half, but neither could find the breakthrough and we went into the interval 0–0.

As the game went on, Tranent began to look the fitter of the two teams and created several good chances. The Edinburgh South goalkeeper was in excellent form and produced some brilliant saves to keep us at bay.

Tranent eventually broke the deadlock after 73 minutes when Theo showed great composure to lob the keeper from 18 yards and put us 1–0 ahead.

Just three minutes later, Theo grabbed his second of the afternoon to secure all three points for Tranent.

All the Tranent lads were excellent today, showing great determination and never stopping working right until the final whistle.

A fantastic team performance and another positive result. 👏⚽️

Special mention to Leo who stepped up to play in Goal again.

Brilliant performance against a very defensive team that we drew with before and we have been working on pressing quicker and not letting teams have to long on the ball and it’s definitely paying off the girls today didn’t let murieston girls have a second 😁

What a goal from young Ellie today also going to be hard to beat that one proper top bins, well done⚽️
