🐮 MEN’S CAPTAINCY 2026-27 🐮

With the men’s season kicking off in just over two weeks on the 29th August, we figured it was a good time to introduce our men’s leadership group for the upcoming season - starting with our Co-Captains!

Please join us in congratulating Fraser Geddes and Will Nock! 🤝

Fraser steps into the captaincy role after vice-captaincy last season, bringing 10+ years of experience and an excitement to push the team forward in an exciting new league structure. Last years Clubperson of the Year, it’s hard to picture this club without Fraser. He has been a loyal and committed member since before we even officially became a club, and wears the Turriff RFC badge with pride both on and off the pitch. His rugby journey hasn’t been without its struggles, succumbing to a few big injuries, but he always comes back with more fight than ever and is deservedly one of the clubs most capped players.

Will is another one of last year’s vice-captains stepping up into the captaincy role. An incredibly talented front row player who simply does not budge in the scrum, and who makes line out throwing look like a breeze. Will also brings a wealth of rugby knowledge and has cemented himself as a leader within the group with a cool and collected presence and always a few wise words. Someone who always gives 100% to his team and the badge, and who will lead by example every time.

Here’s to the season ahead - coming up next, your vice captains! 👏

It’s business as usual for our seniors who continue preseason Tuesday and Thursday at Ashtead. 🏉

A massive thank you to everyone who turned up this morning to help us paint the toilets. A lot of progress made thanks to everyone getting stuck in. We hugely appreciate all the small visitors who gave us colour and animal/flower choices for adding to the walls, we’ve done a few in the ladies and one in the disabled so far and will be adding more as we progress. We hope you like them. Great to have Ashley and Grant along from Turriff Rugby Football Club again, they truly are Community Champions.

Please excuse the doors inside folks, we need to put a good few coats on to cover the previous dark colour - we promise they will look great when we’ve finished. We asked lots of younger folk what they wanted to see in there and a lot said they found the toilets a bit dark. You wont be able to say that when we’ve finished 🤣

Preseason continues this week, ramping up in preparation for the start of the 2026/27 season! 👏

With Turriff Show done for another year, our pitch is now under quarantine so we are back at Ashtead Technology who offer wonderful facilities for us when we can’t use The Haughs!

Reminder to use the main car park and walk up to the pitch to allow access.

Turriff and District Rotary Club (and family) were joined this evening by Ashley, Grant and Pamela from Turriff Rugby Football Club. Together, we cleared out a lot of foliage from the Auld Kirkyard, which had been trimmed back a few weeks ago. Thanks to all for their help.

🐮 COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP 🐮

Some of our members were down at The Haughs today doing some maintenance and cleaning of the toilet block we run in partnership with our friends at Turriff Show 🤝

Looking fresh in and out and ready to go for the big weekend in two weeks!

We also used the opportunity to do a spring clean of our store which is now looking great and organised in preparation for the start of the 2026/27 rugby season.
