This summer, we are delighted to welcome aspiring ballet dancers aged 10–13 to Ashville College, Harrogate, for a special taste of life at YBS.

Students will have the opportunity to take ballet class with Artistic Director Isabelle Brouwers, accompanied by a live pianist, while families will discover how YBS supports and nurtures young ballet students through high-quality training, expert guidance, and a holistic approach to dance education.

Whether you are discovering YBS for the first time or looking ahead to future training opportunities, this inspiring experience day is not to be missed ✨

📣NEWS JUST IN 📣… We are excited to share the news that Mara Galeazzi, former principal with The Royal Ballet, actress and choreographer, will be teaching at our upcoming Pop up - held at The Royal Opera House on Sunday 28th January

Mara Galeazzi was born in Brescia and studied at La Scala, Milan, where she got her diploma with full marks. She joined The Royal Ballet in 1992 and was promoted to First Artist in 1995, Soloist at the end of the 1997/98 Season and Principal in September 2003.

Roles in the classical repertory include the leading role in Fokine’s Firebird, Marie, Sugarplum Fairy and Rose Fairy in Nutcracker, Giselle (also under Carla Fracci’s direction) and Myrtha in Giselle, Medora in Le Corsaire, Gamzatti in Natalia Makarova’s La Bayadère, the leading role in Paquita divertissement, Aurora’s wedding pdd and Bluebird pas de deux in The Sleeping Beauty, the Act I Pas de Trois in Swan Lake, the Talisman pdd with Irek Mukhamedov and Rudolf Nureyev’s Raymonda Act III.

We are honoured to have Mara Galeazzi teach classical classes for our event on Sunday 28th January.

Bookings are NOW OPEN for our 2024 Summer Residential scholarship auditions, held this November in Birmingham, Leeds and London 😍🙌🤩

We are so proud to be able to offer a large number of Scholarships for students to attend our Summer Residential with all or part of the fees covered.

The audition will consist of a 1 hour and 15 minute ballet class in your correct age group (no pointe work for any students) led by an experienced teacher in front of a panel led by the Director.

We will be holding 3 days of auditions across the country. Places for these auditions will be strictly limited and offered on a first booked basis. There is a fee of £12 per student to attend and students can only book to attend one audition date.

* London - Central School of Ballet

Academic Years 7 - 8 ~ 10:00-11:15
Academic Years 9 - 10 ~ 11:45-13:00
Academic Years 11 - 12 ~ 13:30- 14:45
Academic Years 13+ ~ 15:15 - 16:30

LIMITED NUMBER OF SPACES AVAILABLE and they are taken on a first come basis.

*PLEASE NOTE*: Attending the Scholarship auditions does not count as an application for the Summer School. If you wish to be considered for a place at the Summer School regardless of the outcome of the scholarship audition you MUST submit a Summer School application. Summer School applications will open later in the year.
