Thank you Crossroads Care for giving me the opportunity to run the classes since March 2014 🙌

This World Teachers’ Day, we’re celebrating our fantastic sensei Tony Sakim, who has been teaching karate at our Saturday Club for children and young people with special educational needs (SEND) and disabilities since 2014.

Tony also teaches karate at our Crossroads 16+ Group for young people with SEND.

‘I have worked to create much more than a karate class,’ says Tony. ‘My aim has always been to provide a safe, structured and welcoming environment where every young person can have fun, learn, develop, reach their own individual potential and feel that they belong.’

Well done to all of our karate students, and thank you, Tony, for all the years of patience, encouragement and belief.

With thanks to our funders: Richmond Foundation, Hampton Fund, The Barnes Fund and the London Marathon Foundation.
