Crossbats Cricket Club we play for fun but compete to win! Contact us if you want to play! Home gro On some rare occassions we play "time" games. This is not us.

We endorse and play a special brand of cricket, normally limited overs of 35, sometimes, if we reallly feel energetic, or spot the opposition are weak we go for 40 overs. Many of our players have played "league" cricket, this is the serious stuff, where you wake at dawn and return at dusk after 100 overs. Crossbats Cricket Club - Friendly, Social Cricket in Surrey and SW London

Hi Team,

Just over two weeks until we start the season. Lots of work behind the scenes to make this work by a passionate group of members with numerous action points dealt with so we all have a great season. You name it. Balls, bails, fixtures, ground. I could go on.

First game on the 3rd of April - Saturday is a Interclub. Hopefully, enough players reading this email put up their hand and we get 22 players out.

It is a great social, super competitive and sets up the season to come. Ideal for new members.

Plan is beers on pitch at end of play with pizza. We are also working on a trophy for the winning team.

The next day, Sunday, we have a full-on even more competitive game.

Both games same venue - Marble Hill. Work on a 12.30pm start time for both.

It has been a long winter, tough for us all, and sadly loved one's and friends have passed. We will recognise that prior to the game.

As we look forward, I feel a sense of optimism that the dark days are behind us and now it is time to embrace life and play the game we love and have fun.

Please advise your availability for both the Saturday 3rd April and Sunday 4th April.

Just reply Saturday Y - Sunday N - or whatever. Advise on both days please.

Updates will follow in a week or so. Please wait on the next response on details and the plans, like I say it will be a week at least until you hear from me.

First game confirmed. We play, the season 2020 is starting - Crossbats C.C. The first game of season 2020 is this Saturday 11th July. Details currently being sorted with a game on Sunday 12th July as well

Hi Gents,

We have tried hard to push Marble Hill into allowing us to play with various risk assessment promises which took a lot of time to put together and I thank those involved.

The reply was:

“Sorry, you can’t play proper cricket at MH this Saturday.”

“They will give us the go ahead as soon as we see ECB website or Government approval”

On from that the word is:

“My contact at Lancs saying they are now hanging their hats on 11th July start, but have also published fixture lists starting 18th July"

So - that is all I have. Good news is we have booked every available weekend at Marble Hill. This is very good news as you can imagine the interest to book when it opens. Again thanks to the boys in the background sorting.

That’s all I have.

We will play.

It maybe each Saturday AND Sunday!
