Utthita Parsvakonasana
This pose relieves sciatic and arthritic pains, it also corrects any defects in the calves and thighs.
In this pose chest, hips and legs should be in line and to achieve this you should move the chest up and back. ( You can use a brick to help you with alignment, especially if you have shorter arms )
Keep pressing the outer side of the stretched leg to the floor.
Tips: The bent knee forms a right angle with your calf, however if the knee goes past the ankle, it would cause too much pressure to the knee and can easily damage your knee. To solve this, you can either come back up and take a wider stance or simply bend the front leg a bit less.
