Very cheering this morning! First day of advent calendar. A favourite colour so I'm extra thrilled.

All set! The advent calendar is ready - tho my DH had to do most of the wrapping this time! About half have chocolate "Brussels sprouts" from , which the kids love. The rest is bits and bobs from and Tiger. The knitted Santas will go in 24 - hoping I can finish them!!

Argh!! Hairline fracture top joint of thumb. Splint helps a little and I can tape the top properly when the swelling goes down. It's really gruesomely bruised under that splint, but I'll spare u that pic. I haven't tried knitting yet cos it hurts 😧

It's here! Opal's yarntastic advent calendar, via is fabulous and ginormous! I had to get one this year...and one for my sock-obsessed MIL for her (early I admit) Christmas present...for research purposes, of course. So excited!! 😄



PS I'm not looking forward to how Instgram is going to mash-up the Christmas period with out-of-date-order pics. Maybe they'll see the problems...I live in hope of a timeline for Christmas!

Totally in love with bracelet that I bought at the weekend at Been looking for a stitch marker bracelet for nearly 2 years and I fell for this one. Very tactile and markers jingle gently. Hasn't left my wrist (aside from cooking & dishwashing) since I got it. Snag free.

Day off (mostly). Ridiculous knitting season is here. Gone into production on parakeets for DS Christmas. Bodies and wings to be in various fluoro colours. All feet and beaks in neon orange, which luckily the camera can't quite capture.

Fibre from at yesterday. Left: unbelievably soft Falkland OOAK, gorgeously teal. Right: squishy Finnish fibre in alpha, beta, gamma - love the pops of neon green. Haven't bought fibre in ages 'cos I can't spin fast enough, but this was too gorgeous to pretend I couldn't see it. Also loved her Christmas colours, but limited myself. Rachel was demo-ing her wheel...uh oh...so much quicker. Talked about second hand ones. I'm on a slippery slope.

On a day when I really needed cheering up, my lovely MIL has just presented me with these incredible walking-boot socks. Made with sock yarn scraps, how many dyers can you identify? Includes for and some deep stash for !
