This was the third time I had seen the show and it never fails to thrill, move and delight me.
That's all really. I have a day today full of more delights when I go to see some Ravel and then spend the evening with .dandy.and.connoisseur.club

As we near the day of St Valentine's and the end of the Chinese year of the Snake, it has become apparent that some of us might need to direct a little love and gentleness towards ourselves.
In this last two weeks before we greet the new year of the Horse, we might be trying to let go of certain beliefs, patterns and self-doubt. My personal block is often that I have not achieved enough, made enough money, succeeded in all that I set out to do etc. And this is mostly tied up in the belief that a successful being goes to a day job 5 days a week, earns a steady income and has the stability of being employed by someone else...this is not what I have ever wanted for myself but it weaves it's way into my psyche often...that sense that unless I am bringing in the money regularly, that I am a failure and have yet to join the 'adult' world.
BUT... I believe this is the only way for a creative to live...this following dreams and desires that lead you far from security and with it, conformity. And, I wouldn't have it any other way. I am and have always been there for my three children, working my passions and creating in around them so that I am not tied to a 9-5 job. No, I cannot afford to take them on holiday but, I am always there to cook them a lovely meal and gift them with love and support.
Working in any form of art is unknown, it is a mystery from one day to the next but, if you are a creative, you could not have it any other way because it would be impossible to fit one's self into the box of majority. Living from one day to the next, for the next sale or client or event is a lifestyle that chooses me and I am helpless to it's unstable quantity. But...this is life for many and it is a way of life to embrace and feel proud of rather than the shame we may be conditioned to feel by many others.
Shed those skins of shame and fear and enjoy being...being you, being me, just being present in this life of many wonders. Then, we may have the courage to embrace the strength of the horse and keep on going for what we want and dream of. Be kind to yourself if you feel these feelings too and just allow yourself to be!!!
