To all my lovely keep fit team, here are some top tips to keep you thriving during this hot weather that none of us are ever equipped for:
🏋🏻♀️ Training
Try to get your workout in early in the morning (before work) or later in the evening.
Scale the intensity back- training in the heat is tough. Reduce your reps or amount of sets to combat fatigue.
💦 Hydration
Drink your water. Sometimes that isn’t enough though. When we sweat we lose precious electrolytes that balance our fluids inside and outside cells, which in turn has an impact on our bodily functions.
To replenish try adding some unrefined sea salt and a squish of lemon 🍋 to your water to hydrate.
Alternatively, coconut water is perfect!
🧴 Suncream
You should always be wearing spf 50 on your face, who wants to look old?
As the weather heats up we need to think about suncream for our entire body. Do some research and opt for one with minimal environmental pollutants in. These are normally labelled as ‘reef safe’ or ‘reef friendly’.
Not only will the environment thank you but so will your skin. Far too many have harsh chemicals that can disrupt your bodies’ hormones.

Have you been telling yourself one of the following?

To be blunt- you do have time, you’re actively choosing not to exercise. Just like you actively choose to pop on Netflix every evening…
No one is going to do the work for you.
There will always be an inconvenient obstacle to starting exercise.
You will always have an excuse.
I don’t prescribe to ‘summer bodies’ or getting fit for a specific occasion. (If that’s what motivates you to start then fine).
But you should be investing largely in your health and well-being for life.
Be a positive role model to your children and show them how exercise enhances your life.
Carve out the time amongst your day. 10 minutes is better than none…
