Coach Darren Starnes was rubbing shoulders with triathlon royalty today at the ITU standard British Championships in Leeds. A tough but enjoyable day for Darren who was competing at this level for the first time. Great job mate. 👍👍

Awesome early morning sea swim at Branksome Chine - water a little chilly but everyone enjoyed it 😀
It was a big weekend of racing for the TST team with athletes racing across Europe. On Saturday Sally Huard and Paul took on over 3000 competitors in the worlds biggest 70.3 in Mallorca. It was a glorious day and both of them put in great performances amongst some stellar age group athletes.
Sunday saw coach Darren picking up an age group win at Bridport Tri whilst Dave Dawson and Clare Bent taking part in the freezing cold waters of the Swashbuckler. David finished in a time 20 mins faster than last year and getting close to breaking the 6 hr barrier. Clare put in a great swim/bike effort as part of her efforts to qualify for the GB aquabike squad. An excellent weekend all round. Well done guys!
Cracking first day of camp here in Pollenca. A nice early morning sea swim followed by a great group ride to the monastery at Santa Margdelada. Tomorrow is Sa Calobra day so an early start for one of the iconic cycling climbs.
A group of the TST athletes enjoyed a great day out yesterday racing around Lee Valley Velodrome. Lots of fun and hard work as we rode around the boards ridden by world and Olympic champions.
We are delighted to announce the dates for our one day training experiences for 2019.
Based on the beautiful Poole Beaches each day begins with a swim in the crystal clear waters of Poole Bay. The swim will be led by our qualified TST coaches and will follow the coastline from Canford to Sandbanks.
Following a post swim breakfast we take a short bike ride to the Sandbanks Ferry which will take us across to Studland Bay and out onto the glorious Purbeck Hills. The ride will be split into groups and will be around 35-60 miles depending on your ability.
We return to the beach for a group run along the lovely soft sands to Bournemouth and back.
The day ends with home cooked food and if the weather is kind this will include a bbq.
The day is open to triathletes of all abilities and costs just £65 per person which includes all coaching and meals.
For those who wish to stay for the weekend we have numerous hotels and b&b's in the area.
Numbers are strictly limited so please contact as soon as possible at [email protected] for any further information and to reserve your spot.
The dates are Sunday 2nd June, Sunday 23rd June and Sunday 7th July.
We look forward to welcoming you and sharing our triathlon playground with you.

Now that all the results are finally in we can do a proper race report from the weekend. And what a dramatic weekend of racing it has been. Starting in Weymouth where four of our hardiest athletes took on both the awful weather and the course at Ironman 70.3 Weymouth. Congratulations to Mike Bartlett, Steve Page, Dave Owen and David Dawson who braved the cold wet conditions to put in some brilliant times. A PB for Mikey and a top 10 finish for Steve. Dave Owen put in a superb performance for a sub 6 hr race on his half iron debut. David Dawson finished his season in style with a solid race whilst still recovering from Ironman Bolton. Meanwhile in Madrid our Queen of Endurance, Sally Huard, battled extreme heat, extreme hills and bike mechanicals to overcome The ETU Long Course Championships. But what a performance it was. Her efforts were rewarded with a podium finish and a bronze medal on her Team GB debut. Here at TrainSmartTri we are proud of each and every one of our athletes for all the wonderful performances they have put in this season. Congratulations to you all and now it's time to rest those tired limbs and minds before we begin it all again in November! Will post more race photos aa and when we get them.
It's a very busy day tomorrow as TST athletes race all over Europe. Long distance specialist Sally Huard, fresh from the 70.3 Worlds in South Africa, wears her GB suit for the first time as she takes on the demanding hills of Madrid in the ETU Long Distance Championships. Back in Blighty Dave Owen, Steve Page, Mikey Bartlett and David Dawson are hoping for fair weather as compete at Ironman 70.3 Weymouth. This is Dave Owens first middle distance race- have a great one! Finally coach Paul is hoping the water cools a fraction so he can wear his wetsuit in the swim as he takes on the gorgeous course of Ironman 70.3 Slovenia. Have a great race everyone and remember to finish with a smile 😀😀
Arrived in the gorgeous city of Koper for the inaugural 70.3 Slovenia on Sunday. It's a warm one! Really chuffed to have TrainSmartTri on my race number for the first time.
Today is the start of two busy weekends of racing for TrainSmartTri athletes. Fresh from the European Championships in Glasgow Mike Covell takes on the Impetus Sprint at Eton Dorney this morning. Tomorrow Sandra Levett returns to action at the Langport Triathlon alongside Darren Starnes who goes into the race on real good form. Have great races guys!
Two great photos of Sally Huard before and after last weekend's 70.3 World Championships in Port Elizabeth.
Wishing the exceptionally talented and hard working lady all the very best for a fantastic race tomorrow at the Ironman 70.3 World championships in Poet Elizabeth, South Africa. Have the best time Sally Huard. Enjoy every moment.
Great evening of training at the Bustinskins aquathon last night. Good pre race warm ups for both David Owen and Sandra Levett. David is competing in London triathlon this weekend whilst Sandra put in a superb performance as part of her training for Oxley triathlon on 12th August. Coach Paul was there to ensure they did as they were told 😀.
Alex Mitchell - Ironman
David Dawson - Ironman!
An emotional and truly inspiring day as TST athletes Alex Mitchell and David Dawson joined the Ironman club here in a hot Bolton. These guys have shown just what hard work and commitment to training brings. Proud of both you guys. YOU ARE IRONMEN!
Fantastic days racing at Weymouth today at the BUSTINSKIN EVENTS WMD. Age group win for Mike Covell in the Classic distance as well as superb PB by Darren Starnes in the same event. Sally Huard broke 6 hrs for the first time in a middle distance race. In doing so recorded an AG win. Great results from these guys who work really hard at training and so reep the rewards. Great work you guys! Great to see Dawn Sandall today who switched roles from athlete to supporter.
Day 2 of the Madrid training camp! Another day of gorgeous views, amazing climbs (2000m), fast descents, hot sun, rogue bulls and summit toast. A great recce session for Sally Huard and nice pre Ironman Austria workout for me.
Fab day in the mountains of Madrid with GB age grouper Sally Huard. A very worthwhile recce of the European Long Course Champs at Challenge Madrid in September. 2600m of climbing on the course in 36 degrees of hot sunshine today 😎😎 Tomorrow's ride might be emotional!
First tri of the year and what a glorious day it was. Good start to the season with 15th overall and a 1st in the age group.

Week 2 Day 1 of our Majorca camps. The sun coming up over Port De Pollenca as coach Mike briefs the athletes b3fore the sea swim. The water is a lovely 16 degrees and crystal clear. Today's session focused on sighting, drafting and fast starts. A great way to start the day.
Excited and ready to head out to Majorca to join Rob and Griff for two weeks of training camps and triathlon coaching on the island.
Lovely 1-2-1 training ride out this morning over Ham Hill with TrainSmartTri athlete Dawn Sandall. All part of her race prep for Barcelona IRONMAN 70.3
