🇬🇧NATIONAL FINALS - Performance 1 & 2🇬🇧

Wow, what an incredible day Megan and Taba had at National finals over the weekend!

For Taba it was her first time competing at Nationals, she stormed the floor, kept her nerve and had a clean comp all around, helping team South to a 9th place finish 👏🏼 Not only was Taba an asset to the team, she also managed to hit and exceed personal targets with a 6th place finish on beam, 16th on floor and 15th on vault! Not only that, she also finished top half in Britain for R&C. A very very successful first nationals, a great experience and a sneak peak into what the future holds!

For Megs it was her second National finals and her place in team south was well and truly earned through her consistent training and resilience. Megs put out a clean comp with some exceptional routines, helping team South to bag 5th AA! Again, although a team player, Megs also exceeded personal targets, hoping to finish top half in the country, she managed to finish 15th on R&C and Beam and was the 3rd place champion for Vault in Performance 2🥉.

Every competition makes us proud and in awe of what these girls can achieve. However, two gymnasts attending National finals, hitting top half in all pieces and a third place finish for Megan is an eye opener. As a club we have limited facilities, no vault, bars that are free standing and don’t reach FIG widths, an unsprung floor and the list goes on. We don’t have a typical gym facility but we certainly make up for it in team spirit, care and being lucky to work with a group of young talented athletes happy to work with what they have because they love the environment it holds. We see that as a big old ✅

We couldn’t be more proud of either of you girls! You worked hard in the lead up, listened to all the advice, set personal targets and then went out there with a bounce in your step, a smile from ear to ear and encouraged one another throughout. What a family we are 🩷💪🏼🥹
