Embrace Self-Compassion on Your Fitness Journey!
Embarking on a health and fitness journey is an exciting endeavour, with opportunities for self-improvement and growth. However, it's common to find ourselves trapped in a cycle of self-criticism and self-sabotage. Instead of being our own biggest cheerleaders, we inadvertently become our harshest critics. The key to breaking this cycle lies in cultivating self-compassion—a practice that can revolutionise the way you approach your journey.
1. Practice Mindful Awareness - Begin by tuning into your thoughts and feelings. Notice when self-critical thoughts arise and acknowledge them without judgement. Mindfulness allows you to observe your thoughts without becoming entangled in them, paving the way for self-compassion.
2. Shift to Self-Talk - Transform your inner dialogue from self-critical to self-compassionate. Treat yourself with the same kindness and understanding you'd extend to a friend facing challenges. When setbacks occur, remind yourself that everyone experiences them—what matters is how you respond.
3. Celebrate Progress, Big or Small - Instead of fixating on how far you have to go, celebrate how far you've come. Every step, no matter how small, is a victory. Embrace a growth mindset that acknowledges progress and values the effort you're putting in.
4. Set Realistic Expectations - Striving for perfection can breed self-criticism. Remember that fitness journeys are about progress, not perfection. Set achievable goals and acknowledge that setbacks are part of the process. Adjust your expectations and timelines with self-compassion.
5. Prioritise Self-Care - Nurturing your body and mind is an essential aspect of your fitness journey. Incorporate activities that bring you joy and relaxation, whether it's taking a nature walk, practising yoga, or simply spending quality time with loved ones. Self-care enhances your overall well-being and reinforces self-compassion.
We understand that finding self-compassion can be transformative. It doesn't mean ignoring areas for improvement; rather, it involves acknowledging your efforts, treating yourself with kindness, and embracing the ups and downs as part of the journey. Remember, self-compassion empowers you to bounce back from setbacks with renewed motivation and determination.
With these five tips, you're equipped to infuse your fitness journey with self-compassion. Embrace each step you take, both forward and backward, as part of your unique path. As you cultivate self-compassion, you'll find that AG Fit isn't just about physical transformation—it's about nurturing a positive relationship with yourself that sustains you on this journey and beyond.
Be kind to yourself

Feeling Burnt Out 🥵
Firstly this is a little throwback to a weeks ago when I felt good, healthy, motivated, driven, high on life!
December not so much for various reasons! Life has its twists & turns!
ONTOP of what is to be I know my diet & lower activity levels is having an impact on the way I feel mentally and physically. A stage in my life I can recognise these signs, I know what to do to change it!
Self care is crucial! For your mind, body & soul and no matter what is happening around you, focusing on these will lift vibrations!
➕ Physical self care and knowing what your body responds to! Activity, hydration, walks, sleep!
➕ Emotional self care, your inner well being! Who are you & what is it you really desire?
➕ Mental self care! Taking care physically and emotionally will improve your mindset!
➕ Social self care! Being around the right people, support, vibrations! Feeling aligned!
➕ Spiritual self care in any way that fits with you! I have personally started journaling, meditation, self development challenges!
This week can either be the most magical time for some, others not so much, regardless the last couple of years we have had a grey cloud hanging over us!
It is not selfish to love yourself, take time out, make your happiness essential! Do what you need to do to practise self care!
You can reach your goals and live life! The key 🔑 is in your daily habits!
For the rest of December I will be spending with the fam ❤️
And no matter how January starts! I am starting prep for 2022 alongside the 🙌🏼
Who else promises to start the year a healthier version?

One of the most common questions!
How often should you switch up your training?
A question we get asked a lot! And something I see people doing often, a new workout every session.
Let’s keep it simple ⬇️
➕ Changing your workouts too often will not lead to progression, ideally have structure/plan/program for the week (experience dependant)
➕ Your muscles respond to stimulus, over time! The main priority should be taxing the muscle as much as possible!
➕ Focus on good form and gradually building up weight
➕ Progressive overload, building the demands on the muscle over time
➕ There is no set rule for how often you should switch up your program, this is person dependant! Goal and experience will play a big part!
➕ Rep ranges, sets and variations are a good way to switch things up
➕ As a recommendation you would follow a program for at least 8 weeks
➕ Pay attention to your own body! Don’t get too comfortable, when you hit a plateau, don’t be afraid to switch things up or speak with your coach!
Above all! If your bored! Your likely to not be pushing yourself! The idea is to push your body to the limits (safely of course) where the mind goes, the body follows!
Are you stuck when it comes to training?
We are taking on clients (all levels) ready for 2022!
