Space available for 07/08 goalkeeper

There is currently one space available for a 2007 or 2008 goalkeeper in our Wednesday night 1700-1800 hrs session at Fleet Grounds, Rosyth.

Would ideally suit someone with gk experience as the group is of good standard.

Happy 18th birthday to Noah who I have had the pleasure of knowing for a number of years and who has grown into a fine young man who is a credit to Jenny and Mike.

This weekend coincides with Noah flying the nest and starting Uni in Dundee where he is studying art. Sadly, going to Uni means Noah can no longer help me out with coaching but our loss is the art worlds gain!

Happy Birthday Noah, have a great weekend and hopefully you’ll be able to come up with a new fancy logo for KB GK. 🧤⚽️⚽️🧤🍺🍺

Well done to Alfie who scooped the POTM card and the MOTM award playing for Inverkeithing United 2014’s at a sunny Pitreavie yesterday. Great work Alfie 🧤🧤⚽️⚽️🧤🧤

Sad times tonight as it signalled the end of my journey with the 2010/11 Tuesday night group. I move on in the knowledge that the group is passing on to Darren Rennie who will oversee the next stage of their development.

I have watched the boys grow from 7/8 years old, watching them transition from 5/7/9/11 a side games, from primary school to high school and all the associated challenges. A very diverse group in terms of personalities and abilities. Some very quiet, some quite deep and a couple of chancers but, who as a group, gave their all (nearly always) and who attended come rain, hail or shine.

I wish the very best to the boys and their parents/guardians in the knowledge that I’ll keep up with their progress and where I may coach them again in the future. Thanks and good luck.

Well done to Alfie from our Wednesday night session who was awarded POTM card playing for Inverkeithing Utd 2015’s at Pitreavie. Well done Alfie and loving the “no bother to me” pose in the photo 😂🧤🧤⚽️⚽️🧤🧤

26/08/2023

After problems with my photos it’s a catch up and congratulations to Louie R from our Monday night group who scooped the POTM card two weeks on the bounce playing for BB 2013’s at Pitreavie. Great stuff and Louie telling his dad he tells like he’s “in his prime”!! Hopefully not and more to come. 🧤🧤⚽️⚽️🧤🧤

That time of the year again when the gongs are being handed out. Well done to Ewan K of Inverkeithing United 2010’s who was awarded with his teams POTY and with his 5 years playing for the club acknowledgement. Well done Ewan 🧤🧤⚽️⚽️🧤🧤

Catching up from the weekend and celebrating three different successes.

Firstly well done to Robbo and his Rosyth 2009 team in winning their league. Robbo is playing a year up in the hardest position on the park and it speaks wonders for his ability and mentality.

Secondly, Arran R from Rosyth 2012’s scooping yet another player of the match card for his performance at Pitreavie. It was so good he’s already attracted a fan club.

Lastly, Alicia our Thursday night assistant coach has made news today by extending her contract with Spartans Ladies. I’m not sure if I should feel proud or old as Alicia attended sessions with me when she was 13!!

We’ll done to all and to everyone else who put their best efforts in at the weekend but didn’t get recognised with cards or trophies. Keep up the good work and keep smiling 🧤⚽️⚽️🧤

17/04/2023

Well done again to Finlay D from our Wednesday beginners group who scooped the player of the match card playing for Inverkeithing United 2014’s at Pitreavie. Not the first in recent weeks and deserved fully according to his coaches. Great work wee man, keep it up and keep smiling 🧤⚽️⚽️🧤

16/04/2023

Saturday saw two more player of the match awards for two keepers at complete opposite ends of the journey. Former KB goalkeeper Sam McGuff won the award keeping a clean sheet for Lochgelly Albert while young Finlay D did similarly well playing for a Inverkeithing United 2014’s at Pitreavie. Nice also that Finlay appears to have used drone technology when he had his photo taken 😂

A special mention also to Paul ‘Buddy’ Mitchell who was man of the match for Futsal Escotia during their win in a seniors league match on Wednesday night.

We’ll done to all 3 and nothing makes me happier than seeing goalkeeper’s performances being acknowledged. 🧤🧤⚽️⚽️

At opposite ends of the KB Goalkeeping journey are Dylan and Aimee. Dylan was called up for Swifts under 20’s last night and kept a clean sheet, while Aimee, playing for DAGLFC, showed her flexibility by putting in a sterling performance playing one half in goal and the other outfield, achieving player of the match in the process.

Well done to both and to all our keepers playing over the weekend.

18/03/2023

We’ll done to Blair S from our Thursday group who had a busy weekend playing games for Livingston and Crossgates 2013’s. Not the result he wanted in one of the games but Blair acquitted himself well and remember wee man, always blame the defenders!!

A very speedy recovery to Riley from our Wednesday night group who suffered an injury yesterday doing what he does best. Hopefully a quick recovery and back to playing asap.

04/03/2023

Good luck to the goalkeepers starting or continuing at Pitreavie this weekend. A fantastic set up providing boys and girls with a safe and regulated place to start/develop their footballing journey.

I would be delighted to include photos on the page, especially happy faces, manky kits and keepers receiving Player of the Match cards. This applies to goalkeepers at all age groups though I appreciate the older ones are too cool for photos!!

Please privately message the photos and I’ll put them up. Good luck everyone and remember, it’s always the defenders fault! ⚽️⚽️😂😂
