Warfield Cricket Club

The ladies had 2 fixtures this morning and had 2 convincing wins , first against Reading Lions and then against Maidenhead & Bray , thanks to excellent batting, bowling & fielding.
Well played ladies on a great team effort.

Earlier in the week the club had its annual AGM and thanks to a great turn out it was a very positive one, so thank you to everyone that was there and contributed, the main roles were filled as follows.

This coming Monday we have our AGM it is at 7.30pm at Brownlow Hall, it is a chance to discuss the season just gone and to plan and discuss for next season.

So please do take the the opportunity to come along and put forward any ideas or thoughts you may have moving forward.

Also it is when we elect a new committee so if you fancy putting your name forward for a role then please do.

Ground work done for another season many thanks for everyone that attended 👍

This coming Saturday is the end of season ground work day, there a variety of jobs that need to be done including putting the square to bed for the winter, dismantling side screens and covers and also cleaning and tidying up the kitchen and bar area. It's important these jobs get done and done properly so the more volunteers to help the better.

The Sunday side had there final home game today they lost a close encounter by 16 runs, after a good start in the field Goring got up to 205, in reply Jack Cantle hit an excellent 65 but we fell short on 189, really good effort one final game to go next week away at Twyford

The ladies had there final game today against Boyne Hill , in what was there best performance they won by 90 runs , they didn't lose a wicket and bowled really well. Great way to finish the season.

The season is coming to an end but there is still plenty going on this coming weekend, Saturday morning the ladies have there final game of the season at home to Boyne Hill starting at 10,00.

From 1.00 it is family fun day with games and end of season awards including player of the season and club person of the season.

Then Sunday is our final home game of the season against Goring feel free to come along and cheer on and support in anyway over the weekend , the bar will be stocked so no reason not to ....

Well played to the Sunday side who had an excellent win today at home to Crowthorne & Crown Wood, fielding first we kept them down to 169 with all the bowlers chipping in , in reply we got there 6 down thanks to a superb unbeaten 65 from Vamshi Lingala . Really well played everyone.
