This weekend at Broady CC

Three days. Four fixtures. One very big weekend for Broadbottom Cricket Club. 💚💛

The weather might not be playing ball, but there’s a big league battle brewing.

With just three league games remaining, there are only 5 points between league leaders Dove Holes and Broady. Every run, wicket and point matters now. Next week it’s a trip to Dinting, before the season finishes with Dove Holes at home.

If the weather allows, get yourselves down to Broadbottom and get behind the lads. Either way the bar will be open.

A young Broady side heads away to Hazel Grove, with a few experienced players in the mix.

A great opportunity for the next generation to step up. Go well, lads! 💚💛

Tomorrow — T20 finals day 🏆

This is the big one. Hosted by High Lane Cricket Club, finals day gets underway at 10am:

10am — High Lane v Broadbottom
Approx. 1.30pm — Dove Holes v Whaley Bridge
Approx. 4.30pm — The final

And the question is…

Can Broadbottom 1st XI win their first silverware of the season?

We’re taking the Green & Gold Army with us, with minibuses heading over from Broady.

All supporters welcome! If you’ve got a Broady Picow shirt, get it on and help us turn High Lane green and gold.

🏏 WEEKEND CRICKET 🏏

Another big weekend of cricket at Broadbottom CC!

TODAY

The 1st XI are away at Chapel-en-le-Frith in another important game in the title race. With just 3 games remaining after today, every point counts. Can the 1s come away with a full 20 points and keep the pressure on? 💚💛

The 2nd XI are at home to Dove holes 2nd XI. It’s always a tough game against Dove, so the 2s will need to be at their best. Come down to Broadbottom and get behind them!

TOMORROW

The 3rd XI host Tintwistle in a big game. After a few results this season haven’t quite gone their way, can the 3s get back to their winning ways?

The bar will be open, so come along, enjoy the cricket and support all three teams!

Today Broadbottom 1st XI are away at Whalley Bridge for what should be a thrilling game as we head into the final few weeks of the season. Just four games remain after today.

The 2nd XI are at home, hosting Birch Vale & Thornsett 2nd XI.

The bar will be open from 1pm, so come down, enjoy a drink and cheer on Broady.

Tomorrow the 3rd XI are away at Newton for what is a big game.

Another lovely day for cricket. Today the 1st XI are hosting Birch Vale & Thornsett Cricket Club to try and continue their unbeaten run. The 2nd XI are away at Hollingworth Cricket Club taking on their 1st XI. Both matches start at 1pm. Bar will be open all support welcomed.

Tomorrow the 3rd XI are hosting Holmbridge Cricket Club. 1.30pm start.

Broadbottom Cricket Club – Notice of Special General Meeting

Dear Member
NOTICE OF SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING

Notice is hereby given that the Broadbottom Cricket Club Executive Committee has convened a Special General Meeting of the club. The meeting will be held on Thursday 27th August 2026 at 8pm at the Bob Parry Clubhouse, Hillend to consider amendments to the Broadbottom Cricket Club Constitution, Trust, Members Agreement and related matters.
Further details will be provided to members at the meeting by the Executive Committee.
All current full (over aged 18 and with annual subscriptions fully paid) and honorary life members are invited to attend the meeting.

Walsh’s first-ever Wisdom Quiz is TOMORROW NIGHT!

Think you’ve got what it takes to be crowned quiz champion? Gather your team and come along for a great evening of laughs, friendly competition and plenty of head-scratching!

Everyone is welcome – members, friends and family.

🍔 Grannypoo’s Kitchen will be serving food from 7pm, so come down early, grab a bite to eat and get ready for the quiz!

All Stars 2026

What a fantastic way to round off another brilliant All Stars season! On Friday evening we celebrated all of our amazing All Stars as they received their medals. 🏅💚💛

It’s been wonderful to watch so many young cricketers grow in confidence, develop new skills and, most importantly, have lots of fun along the way. We hope you’ve all enjoyed it as much as we have!

A huge thank you to James Dadge, our All Stars Coach and Junior Coordinator, for all the time, effort and enthusiasm he’s put into delivering a fantastic programme this season.

A special thank you also goes to our brilliant coaching support team – Jez, Ben, Lexie and Briony – along with everyone else who has helped throughout the season. Whether you’ve coached, organised, encouraged or supported behind the scenes, we couldn’t do it without you.

We’re also incredibly grateful to Aaron Walsh, Broadbottom 1st XI wicket keeper and opening batter, for joining us to present the medals. It’s always fantastic for our youngest players to meet one of our senior players and celebrate their achievements together.

Finally, thank you to all of our parents and families for your continued support throughout the season. We hope to see you all back next year for another summer of cricket!
