Metros Women conclude the rewind ⏪

The 4th season of the Women’s team, made up of players from our A-E squads, saw a 2nd place finish in the Women’s Cup North division! The side picked up wins away against Leeds and North-East whilst falling to eventual division winners Sheffield at home.

As well as the division games, the ‘Wetros’ headed up to Glasgow, taking a win in the challenge match before heading to Sheffield to compete in the BUIHA Women’s Tier 1 Nationals. Unfortunately, a loss in the national quarterfinal ended the season but the team grew stronger each game!

Looking to join the Metros Women’s team? Players are able to join alongside their WNIHL/NIHL commitments! Message us for more information, and express your interest through the link in our bio.

Our newest club addition, the E Team! ⏪

In 2025/26, the club grew to over 100 members. A huge part of that was the introduction of E Team, a club first.

Made up of absolute beginners coming from our Give It A Go sessions; this team went from learning to skate, to their first match, to being a competitive Non-Checking Tier 4 nationals squad. Whilst it wasn’t meant to be with a silver final loss, the week-by-week improvement showed was proof that the development pathway set out by E Head Coach John McSwiggan was working!

Looking to get involved with our GIAG sessions and our E Team? We’ll be at the UoM, MMU, and UoS Freshers Fairs in September where you can express your interest!

The D(ream) Team rewind ⏪

The first year of cup competition for the D’s saw them finish 2nd in Non-Checking Division 3 North, taking at least a point off everyone in the division before finishing only 1 point behind the eventual winners!

A season full of valuable experience saw this development side head to Glasgow, Grimsby, Leeds, Newcastle and Nottingham, before finishing off the season in Sheffield for Nationals!

Will they go one step further in 2026/27?

What a season for the C Team! ⏪

Undefeated in BUIHA games for an insane 377 days, the C’s claimed the Non-Checking Division 2 North crown in their first year post promotion - the first Non-Checking cup title in club history!

With another promotion likely on the horizon for 2026/27, can they replicate their success of jumping up a division once again?

Throwback to the Battle of Oxford Road ‘26 ⏪

We’re already missing the annual ice hockey clash of Man Met Sport VS The University of Manchester Sport 🏒

857 spectators raising the roof, a sports officer shootout, jersey raffles, University of Manchester Cheerleading and Dance🐝 bringing the energy, and even an appearance from the UoM Vice-Chancellor!

‘27 can’t come soon enough 😍
