Whether you want to play top class competitive rugby, or have the occasional run out with your mates, Imperial Medical RFC should be your choice for rugby at Imperial. A club steeped in history and tradition dating back to 1865, Imperial Medicals are the most successful team in UH history winning the oldest competition in rugby union a glorious 51 times. On a Wednesday afternoon we field three teams in BUCS with our 1sts being in BUCS South East 2A. Whilst offering a chance for players wanting to perform at an elite level, IMRFC has a team for you irrespective of your rugby ability. The club holds a training session on Mondays, and holds weekly skills and strength and conditioning sessions on a Thursday and a Sunday. Rugby however, is not all that IMRFC has to offer. We have a great club spirit, and whilst having fun on the pitch, we also have fun off the pitch. The club is the heart beat of Sports Nights in the Reynolds, other social events and also supports all other teams in the Medical School. We have two domestic tours a year, one to Brighton in October and the other to Cornwall over Easter weekend is the longest running annual sports tour celebrating its 92nd anniversary in 2016. IMRFC also has regular international tours, having travelled to South Africa and Canada in recent years. Recently the club has invested significant time in developing an educational support program for its members, offering tutorials for first and seconds years, whilst also providing mock examination for older years.
