The AimFit Studio's Women's weight lifting class from 3rd September 2024.
Sasha is here to teach you all the things you need to know from lifting weights, why women should lift and the correct way to lift.
WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR?
It is for women of all levels of fitness as well as those who are peri and post Menopause.
The class is here for you to train in a non-intimidating environment and for those who simply exercise socially. Join likeminded people about exercise and learn how to lift some weights with us here at The AimFit Studio.
We are aiming to keep the class small (6-10 ladies) to ensure you get the best out of the session.

Fitness Facts Friday...
Each Friday I’m going to put up a quote or fact that is relevant to fitness, it’ll be mainly female focused but not all!
As the quote expresses a large percentage of women feel that their menstrual cycles affects their fitness performance negatively. Even though it is said that the cycle doesn’t primarily affect your strength the symptoms of the cycle do!
Symptoms such as:
⚪️Tiredness
⚪️Bloating
⚪️Back pain
⚪️Appetite
In little research that has been done it is advised that in your follicular phase (day 1-14) you focus on strength. In ovulation and luteal phase you focus on lighter weights more reps, Pilates and yoga.
With this in mind if you feel ‘weaker’ or something more challenging than the week before this may be because of your cycle! Don’t beat yourself up about it, go slightly lighter and focus on form and control.

SASHA’S SNACKS
Next up are snaktastic pea snacks (Lidl)
These pea snacks are an alternative to crisps, I would say they’re like the chipsticks you can get!
Price £1.09 8/10 for a pack of 6 working out 18p per bag, near enough a bag for the week! A reasonable price for a daily snack.
Protein + Calories 7.75/10, for a bag of crisps the number of calories and protein are both decent. They’re over double the amount of protein compared to a normal bag of crisps and low in calories compared to a bag of say walkers crisps.
Not a large amount of protein but good for what they are!
Tastes 7.5/10, if someone said try this pea snack you probably wouldn’t expect it to taste how it does! I love these as a snack so I asked a fussy eater to try and taste and they said that they’re not over powering in the flavour and would eat

I’m making another return…after starting a new job and getting into a new routine I’m back with a new addition content wise.
There’s lots of content at the moment on what food is low in protein, low in calories etc. However, there’s not much content on how this food actually tastes, the price and whether the protein or calories is accurate to the size of the product.
INTRODUCING SASHA’S SNACKS. I’m going to be rating: Price, nutrition and taste out of 10 with an explanation.
PART 1 of SASHAS SNACKS🍑
Graham Peach Yoghurt (Lidl)
PRICE - 8/10 at 75p, one a day would equate to £5.25 for a weeks supply of a daily yoghurt! For the taste of a protein yoghurt I would say it’s good value.
PROTEIN - 9/10, 25grams of protein in this pouch is unreal. It works out to being about 170 calories per pouch. A great alternative to adding protein without a shake! Can be consumed at breakfast, for a snack or dessert😋
TASTE - 9/10, tastes unreal like any other peach yoghurt, doesn’t have any weird textures or graininess to the yoghurt. You wouldn’t know there’s an extent of protein!

WINNING WEDNESDAY

Here are my clients transformations from the 12 week plans. Some of these are gym successes some of these are home successes!
All clients achieved goals and set themselves new goals once they completed the 12 weeks.
They all changed their thought process around training and were always able to make time for training.
12 weeks is a realistic time to go through the good and the hard parts of training, to have a quiet and busy life. To have an understanding of how to fit training and healthy eating into your everyday life and make it sustainable!

SHOUT OUT TO…Georgie!
Georgie has lost a total of 24cm over the last 12 weeks and gained some incredible strength!
At the start of the programme within the first four weeks we saw Georgie increase strength but nothing changing much in pictures and measurements.
We took a closer look at Georgie’s diet with her endometriosis and adjusted it accordingly. Since then we have since nothing but improvements!
From the off Georgie has given it her everything and has increased strength with some exercises going from 30kg for 15 reps to 80kg for 12-15 reps.
Georgie has gained such confidence in the gym and it is now her happy place!
Georgie and I are going to continue to work together towards her new goals that have been set and continue to keep the gym as the place Georgie can escape to and continue to gain confidence in herself!

SHOUTOUT TO…Harry!
“Very happy with squat strength and chest strength”
“Learnt new ways of exercising”
Harry has been participating in the 12 week gym plan. Harry has been gyming for years with no set plan other than “get big” and “lose fat”. So within this plan we had targets to increase he’s strength and size as well as explore calorie deficit.
That was accomplished; Harrys squat went from 95kg to 135kg (45% increase!!). His chest press had plateaus at 38kg dumbbells each side to 42kg dumbbells for 5 reps and 4 sets. This is due to him having a specific plan each week with exercises, reps and sets in 4 week blocks.
Moving forward Harry is excited to continue in the gym with new knowledge on exercising. Ensuring that he incorporates deload weeks and endurance sessions and shock the muscles.
Harry has smashed the programme and surprised himself with the strength he can achieve when he puts his mind to it! Can’t wait to see what else he is going to achieve within the gym.
