Good news if you still fancy popping down to The Bermondsey Vintage Flea - our friends at Go East Vintage have advised us today's flea will now close at around 5pm rather 4pm as previously scheduled.

Well, it looks like autumn has arrived in London. It's chilly, it's breezy - good job we're safely indoors then !

We've joined Go East Vintage for today's Bermondsey Vintage Flea. We're nicely tucked in the arches under the Doodle Bar Vaults in Druid Street (SE1 2EZ). Open until 4pm, we've plenty of programmes, handbooks & annuals, complete season sets, Rothmans Yearbooks etc.....in fact all the reading material imaginable to keep you busy on the forthcoming winter nights.

JUST IN......A superb selection of top quality ORIGINAL 1990's Tottenham shirts, made by Umbro, Pony, and Adidas. They are that much of fresh arrivals that they haven't been listed on the website yet. Pop down to Bermondsey to see them before everyone else does !

* * * BACK IN STOCK ! * * *

Perhaps our proudest moment since we've been trading was being able to persuade one of our closest friends in football to visit the West London Programme Fair and do a book signing. Can you believe that was just over two years ago ?

We were fortunate to catch up with David Pleat at an Academy match on the outskirts of London this week. Some followers may be aware that he suffered a rather nasty fall earlier in the year while attending a game at Queens Park Rangers, but we're pleased to report that he's recovered well from those injuries, and at the age of 81 his love of the game, and incredible concentration levels and note-taking during matches are all still as sharp as ever.

We'd acquired a handful of hardback copies of his autobiography "Just One More Goal" from one of the book recyclers earlier in the year, and he was good enough to sign them when we met up with him this week. (Please note - these are therefore good condition 'used' copies)

* * * EVENT UPDATE * * *

It's going to be a BUSY November, as we're pleased to announce some fresh fairs and markets as we head through autumn. Got your diary handy ???

We begin the month with a little trip down the A3 when we join Phoenix Antiques, hosts of Vintage Antique & Militaria Fairs in Petersfield. Sunday 1st November is the date, and the Festival Hall in the centre of the town is your venue. Adult admission is £2. We've not attended this fair since January 2025, so will look forward to catching up with some friends and customers across the South

We're back on local territory on Sunday 8th November. Once again Haddon Events are our hosts as we head to Woodside Leisure Centre in North Watford. This lively fair will have around 150 stalls for you to browse for £4 admission, so not only will you be able to add to your football memorabilia collection but no doubt find a few items for a certain day which is looming on the horizon.

More good news ! Our friends at The Greenwich Vintage Market have advised us that a stall has become available on Sunday 15th November. Fancy an autumn day down by the river ? We're looking forward to heading back to SE10 - though of course, we will carefully monitor the unpredictable autumn weather as we head towards the darker afternoons. Life at the market will get underway at around 9 am, and wind down at about 4.30 pm.

Our last event for the month sees us back in the centre of town. Sunday 22nd November, we'll be a long goal kick away from Tower Bridge, joining Go East Vintage for the Bermondsey Vintage Flea. Of course, Go East take over the whole area for the entire weekend, with a street food market along the adjoining Maltby Street. The covered fleamarket takes place in the Doodle Bar Vaults in Druid Street - open from 11 am to 4 pm. But of course, you DON'T need to wait five weeks to see us in SE1. A reminder that we are there this coming Sunday, 18th October.

So, to summarize.....
Sunday 1st November - PETERSFIELD VINTAGE, ANTIQUE & MILITARIA FAIR. 10 am to 3 pm, admission £2.
Sunday 8th November - WATFORD ANTIQUE & VINTAGE FAIR. 10 am to 4 pm, admission £4.
Sunday 15th November - GREENWICH VINTAGE MARKET, from approx. 9 am to 4.30 pm.
Sunday 22nd November - BERMONDSEY VINTAGE FLEA, 11 am to 4 pm.

Typically at events we'll have Big Match programmes including F.A. Cup Finals, League Cup Finals, Charity Shield, Internationals, Scottish & Non League Finals available. Naturally London clubs feature heavily in our stock, and there'll be plenty of pre-1960 programmes from clubs around the capital on offer. There'll be other folders to browse with 'firsts & lasts', testimonials and specials, pre-1970 Non League etc, complete season sets, handbooks and annuals, cards & sticker albums, shirts & sportswear, and a few items which might serve as gift items as we head towards Chri......Christm......nope....still FAR too early to mention it !

Great people.....suspect music choices 😉.

Around eighteen months ago, we stumbled across a Facebook post advertising a fleamarket in Hackney. So we sent a tentative enquiry. "We think our stuff might work, fancy letting us try having a stall ?"

Well, what can we say about the last year or so. Hackney, Walthamstow, and more importantly Wapping....and Bermondsey !

We can't wait to see our friends at Go East Vintage again over at The Doodle Bar Vaults for the BERMONDSEY VINTAGE FLEA.

We're joining them on two upcoming SUNDAYS - October 18th & November 22nd. In fact Go East take over the area for the whole weekend, with the adjacent Maltby Street hosting a street food market and more vintage stalls. (Their events cover the whole weekend, but naturally during the football season, we're only attending on Sundays).

Ten minutes walk from Bermondsey Station one way, and a similar stroll from Tower Bridge in the other direction - the ideal way to spend an enjoyable day as London moves into autumn.

* * * NEW STOCK ALERT * * *

Well, here's a little something we've not previously had before !

Just in at NWM Towers is a stock of "Roy Of The Rovers" comics. These have turned up locally to us and apparently were a 'loft find' by a family moving into a new home.

We've checked them carefully, and disposed of substandard/incomplete copies. The earliest issue dates from late 1981 and the collection - just over 200 issues - runs until the autumn of 1987.
