🔥 DERBY DAY DELIGHT — WOODKIRK 8–3 MORLEY TOWN 🟠⚫
What a way to win a local derby!
Woodkirk Valley produced a huge performance to put EIGHT past Morley Town.
From the opening stages Woodkirk played with real intensity, moving the ball well, attacking with purpose and causing Morley problems every time we went forward. The goals kept coming, and although Morley managed to find the net three times themselves, Woodkirk were simply too strong going the other way.
There was plenty of attacking football, plenty of commitment and, most importantly, a real togetherness throughout the side. Even with the game opening up, the lads kept pushing for more and never took their foot off the gas.
A big thank you to everyone who came down to the clubhouse and backed the lads you certainly got your money’s worth! 😏🧡🖤
🎙️Steven Rose: “The work rate from the first minute was outstanding. We played with real intensity, moved the ball well and at times had Morley chasing shadows. We were ruthless when the chances came and fully deserved the result”
🎙️Josh Ward: “What a performance. From start to finish we looked in control, stood strong when Morley had their spell and then really grew into the game. Once the second goal went in, the confidence lifted and some of the football was quality. We were dominant, ruthless in front of goal and the subs made a real impact again, which shows the strength of the group. Disappointed with the two late goals because we switched off, and that’s something we need to improve, but overall it was one of our best performances in a long time. A real statement and I still think we’ve got more gears to go”
