WRPF West Yorkshire Qualifier II
-

We are now only 4 weeks out from our second WRPF qualifier of the season, and it's going to be a big one!
-
This is going to be a well organised, fast-paced, and lifter focused event, ensuring each competitor gets the best out of themselves on the platform and returns home with a positive experience under their belt
-
This competition provides:
•An opportunity to qualify for the WRPF Nationals
•A huge warm up area that is exclusive to competitors & handlers
•A dedicated holding area with access to an outside talcing area and easy viewing of the lifting order
•An experienced platform crew getting each lifter through the day safely & efficiently
•A spectator area in front and overhead that feels close, loud, and energetic
•Friendly staff on hand to help settle any nerves
•Hot drinks sold at reception and hot food sold just outside the main entrance
•Easy access (we're just off junction 40 of the M1) and well priced hotels nearby for any travelling competitors
•Free parking

And with the 2026 Nationals being held in Leeds for the first time, this is a very exciting time to be involved with the federation

With every competition that we host, we aim to make subtle improvements that might not seem like much, but matter to the lifters and their Powerlifting experience

With all that being said, we could do with just another couple of volunteers to help us with the running of the competition (spotters, loaders, table crew, etc)
-
In return for your support, we'll ensure that each volunteer has refreshments, is well fed, and is given a competition t-shirt to keep.

The ran a single lift Powerlifting meet at the weekend, and one of the events that they put on was a Stict Curl.
-
The event looked like a load of fun, and both & took part
-
Sophie finished with a 35kg curl, which was enough for her to take the win (lb for lb) out of all the female competitors
-
Ikram completed the biggest strict curl of the day with 75kg (he then did 80kg post competition for the PB). This was enough for him to win his class and set a new British Record
-
Well done both of you! 💪

In other news, the World's kindest powerlifter, competed at the European Equipped Powerlifting Championships recently, where he placed 4th in his class, and took gold on Bench Press

Just 4 weeks to go until the first of this years Viking Shield Powerlifting qualifiers, we hope your training has been going to plan so far!
-
As you know, a lot goes into these competitions and we could never get through them on our own, not without the help and support we receive from volunteers each year
-
We could do with just 3 or 4 more volunteers to help us with the running of the competition (reffing, spotting, loading, back room staff etc)
-
This is looking like a quiet event so far (when compared to some of our other competitions), so anyone who does help out with spotting/loading can expect to be finished by lunchtime...
-
Any volunteers will be greatly rewarded with a free t-shirt provided by us and free refreshments on the day
-
If you'd like to get involved and volunteer to help out with this competition, please contact us so we can get everything organised.

It's been another busy few weeks for our strongmen & women

competed at the weekend in what became a smooth run through of some very fun events, in preparation for Hull's Strongest in a few weeks time
-
The events included a Zercher carry and a Hercules Hold, so a lot of fun was had!

Cheryl & competed at the BNSF Masters Britain's Strongest Man/Woman
-
Both qualified and received invites to the World Championships!!!

competed at England's Strongest Master at the weekend

Bob did the entire competition with a smile on his face (as always 😊), and achieved some PBs on the Shield Carry, Stone Run and Yoke Carry.

Dave put in a solid performance across all events and finished in 11th place overall, out of a very tough lineup of some very experienced Strongman competitors

Tom achieved a new personal best Squat of 190kg, he also came away with 🥇 place in the male Novice category!!

TODAY IS OUR 7th B-DAY

It's safe to say we've made loads of changes since we first opened our doors back in 2019, and we have lots of plans in place for making further changes/improvements moving forward...

One thing that will NEVER change, though, is our commitment and our drive to provide a welcoming, well kitted facility, with a real feeling of community & support throughout, along with knowledgeable & experienced staff on hand to guide you through your journey.
