German Exiles Rugby League

03/10/2026

🇩🇪 FULL TIME: Germany 28–29 Malta 🇲🇹

A heartbreaking finish for Germany in their opening European Championship fixture, as Malta secured a narrow victory with a last-minute drop goal.

Germany held a commanding lead for much of the match, but lapses in discipline and costly errors allowed Malta back into the contest before the visitors sealed the win.

The German Exiles players were devastating through the middle and out wide, bringing experience, intensity and tenacity to Germany’s performance. Unfortunately, their contribution was not enough to secure the victory.

A tough result to take, but plenty to learn from as Germany prepare for their next fixture.

Congratulations to Malta on a hard-fought victory. 🇲🇹👏

🚨 BREAKING NEWS: COMMITTEE MEMBER REMEMBERS TO DO HIS JOB 🚨

We do apologise for the slight delay…

It appears one of our committee members — COUGH COUGH, JASON 👀 — somehow managed to forget to send us HIS OWN shirt presentation photo. 🤦‍♂️🤣

Outstanding work from the Co-Founder. Really leading by example there, JK. 👏😂

Anyway… now that the administrative disaster has been resolved, here he is!

🇩🇪 Our very own Co-Founder, Jason Kay, receiving his Germany jersey! 🇩🇪

All jokes aside, a brilliant achievement and thoroughly deserved.

Go well, JK! 💪🇩🇪🏉

And next time… SEND THE BLOODY PHOTO. 😂📸
