Manager’s Man of the Match – Adam

Today’s Manager’s Man of the Match goes to Adam for an outstanding performance when the team needed him most.

With our regular goalkeeper unavailable through illness, Adam stepped up and took on the responsibility without hesitation. Playing out of position is never easy, especially in a fast-paced and attacking game, but Adam showed incredible bravery, focus, and maturity throughout the match.

He made several important saves, commanded his area well, Adam’s performance was a brilliant example of putting the team first and giving everything for the badge. Even in a tough result, his effort did not go unnoticed by players and coaches alike.

Parents’ Man of the Match – Arjan

Today’s Parents’ Man of the Match goes to Arjan for a fantastic all-round performance and a true striker’s display.

Arjan led the line with energy, intelligence, and determination, constantly troubling the opposition defence with his movement and work rate. He showed great awareness throughout the match, always looking for space and creating opportunities for himself and his teammates.

Arjan’s performance was a perfect example of commitment and quality combined, and his contribution played a huge role in a strong team display.

Red Star Lions Vs DMC Hamburg-loss

Red Star Lions were edged out by DMC Hamburg in a highly entertaining and competitive match that showcased attacking football from the very first whistle.

Both sides came out with intent, pressing high and moving the ball quickly, making for an exciting contest. Red Star matched DMC throughout the opening stages, but an unfortunate own goal gave DMC Hamburg the lead against the run of play.

Rather than letting the setback affect them, Red Star responded with real determination. They continued to battle for every ball, putting in strong tackles and pushing forward in search of an equaliser, showing great character and resilience.

In the second half, as Red Star committed players forward, DMC Hamburg struck with a moment of quality, scoring an impressive goal that ultimately decided the match.

Despite the result, there were many positives to take. Red Star Lions displayed outstanding team spirit, particularly with their regular goalkeeper unavailable through illness. Adam stepped up in goal and delivered an excellent performance, making several important contributions and proving his reliability for the team.

Although the scoreline did not go their way, Red Star Lions can take pride in a performance full of effort, unity, and belief heading into the next fixture.

Red Star Lions Vs Barnhurst Lane Lions North- Draw

Red Star Lions marked their return from the long Christmas break in thrilling fashion, earning a hard-fought draw against Barnhurst Lane Lions North in a match full of intensity, resilience, and late drama.

With both teams fighting for position at the top of the league groups, the atmosphere was electric from the opening whistle. Barnhurst started strongly, pressing high and forcing Red Star onto the defensive early on. However, it was Red Star who struck first.

A moment of quality changed the game when Joshua picked out striker Arjan with a perfectly timed assist. Showing great awareness and composure, Arjan spotted the opening and clinically finished to give Red Star the lead.

Barnhurst continued to apply pressure, but Red Star grew into the match and began to take control. Their hard work paid off when Arjan struck again, this time after a brilliant assist from Rocco. The striker produced another impressive finish to double the advantage and put Red Star in a commanding position.

As the match entered its closing stages, Barnhurst pushed forward in search of a way back. In a cruel twist of fate, an unfortunate own goal gave Barnhurst hope and shifted the momentum late on. Deep into stoppage time, Barnhurst completed the comeback by securing an equaliser in the final seconds of the match.

Despite the late heartbreak, it was a phenomenal first game back after the Christmas break for Red Star Lions, a performance full of character and quality that keeps them right at the top of the league groups.

Red Star Lions vs Ace PSG

The Red Star Lions were back in action in what proved to be another brilliant and thrilling match, this time against a strong Ace PSG side. From the first kick, it was clear the Lions would need to draw on everything they’ve learned in training and they certainly did not disappoint.

The match was full of energy, determination, and clever play. The Lions showed remarkable focus, working hard in every area of the pitch to keep themselves in the game. Their teamwork, communication, and tactical awareness were on full display as they battled for every ball.

One of the standout moments of the match came from Ollie, who delivered a truly special performance. He netted his first-ever hat-trick, a huge milestone and an unforgettable achievement that helped secure the win for the Lions. Each goal was taken with confidence and showed just how much he has grown as a player.

Leo also shone brightly, assisting two of Ollie’s goals with superb passes and adding a goal of his own to cap off an excellent all-round display. His creativity and composure were key in unlocking the Ace PSG defence.

At the final whistle, the Red Star Lions came away with a well-deserved victory. The team played with heart, skill, and fantastic unity.

A massive well done to our Lions especially Ollie for his hat-trick heroics and Leo for his brilliant contributions. Another game to be proud of!

Red Star Lions vs Bliston TN Warriors

Spectators were treated to a thrilling and action packed encounter as the Red Star Lions faced off against the Bliston TN Warriors. From the first whistle, both teams showed immense determination, battling hard at both ends of the pitch. The match was filled with strong tackles, rapid counterattacks, and plenty of impressive shots on goal.

The Lions, in particular, demonstrated excellent teamwork throughout. Their unselfish play and smart passing created multiple opportunities, with players constantly supporting one another and making intelligent decisions at key moments. Their unity on the field was clear to see, and it kept the game tight right until the end.

Despite the Lions hard work, organisation, and spirit, it was the Bliston TN Warriors who ultimately secured the win. Even so, the Lions can hold their heads high they played with heart, skill, and maturity beyond their years.

We are incredibly proud of our little Lions, who showed outstanding effort and teamwork from start to finish. A fantastic performance all round!

This weeks Man of the Match & Last weeks Parents Man of the Match – Rocco

Rocco constantly gives 100% in every single match, always playing with a smile on his face and showing real love for the game. His energy and attitude lift the whole team, and his key tackles and challenges made a huge difference throughout the match.

Rocco’s determination, positivity, and willingness to battle for every ball don’t just inspire his teammates they also stand out to everyone watching on the sidelines. A fantastic performance and a well deserved. Well done, Rocco!

Last week’s Man of the Match goes to Adam, whose performance was outstanding from start to finish. He delivered a series of brilliant passes that kept the team moving forward and showed real intelligence on the ball.

Match Reviews – Red Star Lions

It’s been a tough few weeks for the Red Star Lions, but the boys have shown nothing short of incredible heart and determination. Every match has asked a lot from them physically, mentally, and emotionally and they have continued to rise to the challenge with heads held high.

Despite the results not always reflecting their effort, the team has battled for every ball, put together some brilliant passages of play, and delivered strong tackles and smart passes throughout. Their work rate and commitment have never wavered.

What truly stands out is how they’ve stuck together. When things got difficult, they didn’t shy away they pushed harder, supported one another, and kept fighting until the final whistle. That resilience is something every player should be proud of.

Everyone watching coaches, parents, teammates can say with absolute confidence that they are proud of each and every player. The foundation they’re building now, through perseverance and teamwork, will only make them stronger going forward.

Kian has been outstanding in his last two matches, showing brilliant progression as a young goalkeeper. He pulled off several key saves and demonstrated real confidence between the posts.

What’s been especially impressive is how well Kian has been listening and learning during training each week. He’s now putting his coaching into practice on match days, and it’s clear to see the improvement in his positioning, decision-making, and overall presence in goal.
