Lincoln Stud

The yard was established by Michaela Tomlinson. Set in 8 acres just inside the M25 in Surrey. She lives on site so there is 24 hour care.

She established the yard in 1992 originally specialising in event horses and teaching. The yard has 18 stables, a 60m by 20m ménage with a sand and rubber surface and a horse walker. Michaela competed event horses for 15 years and was the head girl for Lucy Thompson and the Asprey event team after leaving school. She was there for 2 and a half years before setting up on her own. She competed on he

r own and on owners horses from pre-novice to four star level, and she has competed at many major events in England and Ireland including Burghley, Bramham, Blenheim and Punchestown. Michaela is now show jumping bringing on young horses through the Grades. She is a Qualified registered BHSI instructor and trains a number of aspiring event and show jumping riders, she holds a number of show jumping and cross country clinics at local venues throughout the year. She has several good contacts in Ireland and always has an Irish Sports horse in for sale.

Hickstead September Tour week two completed, a second week of jumping on this brilliant tour which took place in perfect weather.
Our horses maintained their good form from week 1 with some more placings and hard earned Hickstead rosettes.
Piesang was placed on the BN Friday and gained his first BS prize money. Tropical Storm jumped a super double clear to be placed in the 1m Open. Pleasing rounds by Ashmolean and Limited Touch and Colja jumped a good double clear on Saturday to complete all our jumping.
We supported the BE Auction on Saturday night, they put on a really successful evening with a high class selection of horses offered for sale. We were very proud to be part of Lucky Legs’s early education and it was great to see her looking wonderful, she was one of the collection sold on the night.

Round up of the first week of the September Tour at Hickstead. We were very fortunate to have brilliant weather for the whole week and all the horses jumped well.
Anne Nelson did a super round on Ashmolean, to be placed on Friday, which qualified for the International arena, in the 1.10 Amateurs, where they jumped a super round just having 4f. Anne was also placed 6th in the BN on her other homebred Tropical Storm and they jumped some super rounds in the 1m classes.
Michaela Tomlinson jumped the super Z7 Calmini for her owner Olivia Taplin, they had their first placing in a Newcomers at Hickstead by being 13th in a very competitive class on the Friday.
Piesang, bred by Anne Nelson and ridden by Michaela jumped a super round in the BN on Friday.
Our two lovely 5 year olds Colja and Limited Touch both jumped good rounds in the very technical 1m classes.
Really looking forward to the second tour next week 🐴 🐴 🐴

We were jumping at Felbridge yesterday. Anne Nelson’s Piesang jumped a good round in the 95cm. Michelle Dorion’s Rebel jumped a smooth round in the 1m to be 10th. Olivia Taplin’s Z7 Calmini was 3rd in the Newcomers, we were delighted as this is her best Newcomers placing 🤩

Back out jumping last weekend after a couple of quiet weekends. Felbridge on Saturday where Anne Nelson’s homebred 5 year old Piesang jumped a super double clear in the BN. Limited Touch also jumped a double clear in the Discovery. Colja jumped a decent round in the Discovery as did Z7 Calmini in the Newcomers.
I jumped Rebel on Sunday at Pyecombe , he had a few weeks of jumping while he was doing some super dressage tests with his owner Michelle Dorion.
He jumped an enthusiastic round in the Discovery. Anne Nelson had a super morning jumping 2 double clear on Trooical Storm in the BN and Discovery and another double clear on Ashmolean in the 1.10m. Thank you to both teams at Felbridge and Pyecombe for maintaining the ground so well in these extremely dry conditions 🤩

Then…. October 2025 when Inky arrived at Lincoln Stud as a yearling.
Now….. August 2026, 10 months later….. as a two year old. She is a lovely TB filly by Golden Horn, she’s developing into a very impressive young horse 🐴 🦄

Pictures of Limited Touch and Colja yesterday at the RIHS at Hickstead.
They both jumped clear in the 1m Open, finishing with equal placings as their jump offs were exactly the same time!
I couldn’t have done that if I had tried 😂😂😂
I am delighted with how both of these lovely 5 year olds are progressing 🐴 🦄

Day two completed today, technical courses with plenty to think about, some small mistakes but generally happy with our rounds and how the horses are feeling.

Photos of the Lincoln Stud horses jumping at the Area 46 Show at Felbridge. I was delighted with Limited Touch and Colja, they both jumped clear in the 5/6 year old handicap on Friday. We also took Anne Nelson’s Piesang, he jumped a smooth round in the BN.
We went back today, Anne Nelson jumped a lovely double clear on Ashmolean in the 1.10m and Anne had just had 4f on Tropical Storm in the Discovery. Anne bred both of them so it’s especially rewarding that they are jumping so well.
Olivia Taplin’s Z7 Calmini jumped another super round in the Newcomers. It was a good preparation for the RIHS at Hickstead next week.
Thank you to Area 46 and the team at Felbridge for putting on such a good two day show.

Our 5 year olds jumped really well at Felbridge yesterday. Anne Nelson’s homebred Piesang, who we backed last year, jumped a lovely double clear in the BN to be 8th.
Limited Touch was 5th in the Discovery and Hannah Lipczynski’s Colja was 8th in the same class.

Happy 2nd Birthday to Leo.
My lovely mare Birmena’s first foal by Escape Z.
He has a great character, it’s been an exciting journey so far, looking forward to seeing how he grows and develops 😍
