JPH Leather high quality leather gifts

It's been awhile since I promised sight of my revised product range so here's a little preview of what I'll be doing over the next few months.

The coaster and key fob are representative of a wide range of similar items which will include monogramed, cycling, equestrianism, signs of the zodiac and sailing.

All products showing a sign of the zodiac will come with a A4 description of the characteristics of the sign.

As standard coaster will be in sets of four and will have a leather stand.

There will be a variety of bags; some are still being worked on but the range will include quite small to large[ish] drop bags.

Three other items under development are guitar straps [the proto-type is undergoing testing], two credit card cases and a passport case.

Well at the end of two difficult years of family illness I'm pleased to say that JPH Leather is back and raring to go.

Moving forward I aim to introduce at least one new line each month and our offering for September is a small range of bags. I became interested in this when a friend asked if I could make her a bag.

I took up the challenge and managed to produce something that I was quite proud of. Unfortunately I gave her the bag without photographing it first - a real beginners mistake. Any way she kindly agreed to let me take some shots of it and they’re in the bags album. They’re not brilliant but I’ve done my best.

I’m currently working on another bag [it will get properly photographed] which is made from waxed bull hide. So watch this space!!

As a leather worker I get used to unusual requests but this week I’ve had one of the funniest. Once again it came from a friend who wanted a bag. Usually this wouldn’t pose a problem but….. it’s for a vegetarian who won’t wear leather – oh joy. Not to be beaten I’ve sourced an alternative material and will post more details when the bag is finished.

Following my hand injury some fourteen months ago I’m now almost ready to get back into production. I’m looking forward to getting into the workshop and indulging myself making the things I love.

Alongside my existing range of gifts I also intend to make some plain belts and then gradually introduce new items into the range.

I’ve already got some exciting new patterns and designs in mind and will shortly be posting some photographs.

Christmas was kind to us this year but nothing was more satisfying than managing to create a special item at very short notice.

We were asked to produce a triangular coin purse with a nautical theme but only had two days before the last posting date. The item came out better than expected and we were really pleased to have our effort rewarded with the following review:

"Thank you so much for making this beautiful coins purse for my dad for his Christmas. He was so chuffed. The purse was beautifully made and the design just lovely, delivery was super quick too. Thank you for the extra effort to make this so special"

It's been a while since I've posted anything but thought this very gratifying note received from a client in Italy was worth reading:

Sorry to say that I’ve manged to injure my right thumb and am struggling to make anything at the moment.

The offending digit has been in a splint since the beginning of August and is showing no signs of healing so I’m a little hacked off.

The upside is that I have the chance to photograph and upload some of the items I made before [seem to have heard that line somewhere] the injury.
