Crosfields Cobras U14's year 9

🔵🟡MATCH REPORT 🟡🔵

After a tough couple of weeks for the Cobras the lads were looking to get back to winning ways hosting Golbourne Parkside down at Hood Lane

The lads started strong recieveing the kick off and were quickly rewarded with the first points of the game as forward Max crossed under the sticks to give Breeze an easy Conversion position

Then some intense line speed in defence created some more opportunities as the visitors struggled to gain any ball possession in the first half as 3 more tries from Joe, Jake, and Aidan saw us go in to the break 20 - 0 up 💪🔵🟡

The second half started and the lads maintained the pressure to fight off several attempts from the visitors to get back into the game but a resilient defence from the Cobras continued to hold them out and they were rewarded with another 3 tries from Max, Breeze , and Aidan

A clean sheet for the Cobras and some much needed confidence rewarded as we look to take on Orrell st james next Sunday in the next round of the Lancashire Cup 🟡🔵💪

🔵🟡Match report🔵🟡

It was always going to be a tough game with all the unknowns as top side Keighley Albion traveled to Hood lane to meet our Cobras in a fight to progress to the next round of the BARLA National Cup

From the kick off both sides battled it out down the middle looking to assert dominance as their physicality was tested set after set but it was keighley who drew first blood only to be answered with a display of great footwork from our speedster zac

As the battle contued in the middle an excellent opportunity for the Cobras opened up and our half back rocco put in an awesome kick and chase to cross the try line once more to put the boys infront. However the drama continued with the visitors giving their answer to the the game into the interval at 10 - 10

The second half was a different story though as too many errors from our lads gifted the visitors to much ball time which they used to gain a convincing lead and ultimately putting themselves in an unwatchable position and sending the Cobras out of the cup

An incredible game for both sets of fans as these to top sides had always promised but ultimately a lot of lessons to be learned for our lads

This week the boys had an away day to leigh to face newly promoted side Leigh East

What started as a good performance by the boys showing their attacking capability at every opportunity the Cobras gave themselves a convincing lead scoring 3 tries before going into the break

However the second half allowed the hosts back into the game with too many errors in defence giving the opposition plenty of chance to get back into the game

However a rare defeat to the Cobras always provides opportunities to improve and re focus for the next game
