Player of the Match ๐
Player of the Match for last weekendโs game against Rainford goes to Amy!
Amy delivered an outstanding all-round performance, showing great strength in defence and making several crucial recovery runs to stop balls played in behind. She kept the opposition out of the box, forcing them into long-range efforts and pushing their attacks down the wings. On top of her defensive work, she contributed well going forward, put in a great effort throughout the game, and communicated brilliantly with the team.
Well deserved Amy! ๐

Recent Results โฝ๏ธ
FC Community of Liverpool put a stop to our winning ways at the end of February. We had a really dominant first half, but our concentration slipped in the second, resulting in a frustrating half for us and a disappointing result that we knew could have been much better.
Last weekendโs tie against Rainford was a very competitive game. The girls played well, but ultimately we couldnโt finish our chances. A late penalty for Rainford saw them go one up, and with us gambling to find an equaliser, they bagged another just before the final whistle.
Some difficult results to take, but the team are making progress, which is good to see ๐ต

Player of the Match ๐
Player of the Match for last weekend's game against Wirral Pheonix Development goes to Hannah with the Captainโs POTM going to Tish!
Hannah showed exactly what it means to be a team player, stepping in at centre back and putting in a brilliant performance. Although itโs not her usual position, you would never have known. She dealt confidently with everything that came her way, putting in crucial tackles and clearances, and played an important role in helping the team transition from defence into attacking play.
Tish had an outstanding work rate up front, chasing every ball and making intelligent, positive runs throughout the game. She worked brilliantly with the team, consistently getting herself into the right positions, and was deservedly rewarded with two goals for her efforts.
Well done both! ๐

Another brilliant performance from the girls last weekend with a 4-2 win at home!
The girls worked hard from the start and created a number of chances early on. Our midfielders controlled the tempo playing a number of dangerous balls through to Lilly, Beth and Tish constantly putting Wirral under pressure.
2 great finishes from Tish and a goal from Beth meant we were up 3-1 at half time. We worked hard in the second half to defend our lead and another goal from Beth helped us secure a 4-2 win ๐๐ป
A great team performance ๐ต

Player of the Match ๐
A double POTM from last weekendโs game against University of Liverpool FC Women goes to Gemma and Mollie, with the Captainโs POTM going to Beth!
Gemma was incredible in midfield and never stopped running for the full 90 minutes, playing quality through balls to set up attacks and topping it off by calmly converting the winning penalty.
Mollie put in another huge shift in midfield, giving absolutely everything, winning the ball back, getting out of tight spaces and playing forward to create our chances.
Beth was rapid down the wing as always, beating players 1v1, getting on the end of through balls, causing trouble for the opposition defence and finishing off a brilliant run with a well-deserved goal.
Well played all ๐๐ต

Victory against University of Liverpool FC Women!
A brilliant performance from the girls yesterday, with every player giving their all. The teamwork and communication were the best weโve seen this season, alongside some really good football throughout.
We went into half-time trailing by one, but the first half was still very positive. We created chances through the midfield, feeding the wingers and strikers, and although we came under pressure at times, we defended solidly. We were unlucky to concede after a deflected University of Liverpool free kick.
The second half was more end-to-end action. We remained strong defensively, the midfield won their battles, and after Laila set us off on a counter-attack, we moved the ball through midfield and into Beth, who went on a great run and slotted home our equaliser.
From there, both teams battled hard. We continued to apply pressure, winning the ball back and creating opportunities in the final third. With a minute to go, a ball into the box fell to Tish, who was brought down while through on goal, resulting in a last-minute penalty. Gemma stepped up and calmly converted to secure the win.
A fast-paced game full of action, but we kept our heads, stuck together, and gave everything to earn a well-deserved win! ๐ต
