This week (June 13th - 20th) is Drowning Prevention Week, a national campaign led by the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) to raise awareness about water safety and help reduce preventable drowning incidents. The campaign focuses on giving children the knowledge, skills, and confidence to stay safe in and around water. To support this, we will be incorporating water safety activities into our swimming sessions this week on Wednesday and Friday.
For these sessions the first 30 minutes of the session will have activities - please ensure swimmers bring:
Lightweight clothing, such as shorts and a t-shirt, suitable for use in the water
Normal swimming wear to be worn underneath
Swimmers should arrive poolside with normal swimming kit on, and clothing on over the top so that they can transition to the normal session after the activities.
These activities are an important and engaging way to help swimmers experience different scenarios and build confidence in a safe, controlled environment.

Better late than never, right? 🤫 On May 18th, our Seniors took to the pool against Southport and put on a clinic, walking away with a massive 14 - 5 win! 🤽♂️🔥 The teamwork, and that relentless offense were all on point. We are incredibly proud of the squad for setting the bar so high!
🙌 A Huge Week Ahead...
Speaking of teams that make us proud, it’s Volunteer Week! We wouldn’t be providing training, playing matches, or even a functioning club without the incredible humans who give their time up despite their very busy lives.
Keep your eyes peeled on our feed this week. We’ve got some major celebrations and well deserved “thank yous” coming up for the absolute legends behind the scenes. 🤫✨

Some milestones are just special. ❤️
We witnessed an incredible moment in our club’s history: three generations sharing the pool in a senior men’s match. Vice Chair Neil, Head Coach Ian, and U15 player Micah. This family’s commitment to our club over the years has been immense, and seeing them play together was amazing.
The next generation is officially here. Micah didn’t just make his senior debut against Port Sunlight—he scored! And he wasn’t alone; fellow U15 player Oisin Grehan also made his senior debut and got himself on the scoresheet.
To make a perfect night even better, the lads walked away with a dominant 27-5 victory.
Future looks bright! 🌟🤽♂️

Warrington Water Polo Club results: National Age Group Championships
4 Players from Warrington Swimming and Water Polo Club competed in the National Age Group Championships in Gloucester at the weekend, returning home with Silver and Bronze medals.
Nieve Folkes and Francesca Horrobin represented the City of Liverpool Under 17’s women’s team returning home with Silver medals after finishing 2nd place in the country. In the semi-finals, City of Liverpool beat Beckenham 11-7 but unfortunately despite a promising start in the final game, were defeated by West London Penguins 4-10.
Nieve and Francesca were then joined by Warrington’s Tillie McGeehan and Fleur Morris also representing City of Liverpool but in the women’s under 19’s. All 4 made an excellent contribution in both games, eventually beating Cheltenham 6-8 finishing in 3rd position and receiving Bronze medals.
Warrington Swimming and Water Polo Club are so proud of all the players that attended the finals weekend in Gloucester, a fantastic opportunity, and bringing silver and bronze trophies back to the northwest. Playing in teams that are 2nd and 3rd in the Country is truly something to be proud of, well done ladies!
