FULL TIME
Tarleton Corinthians 7–4 Atletico Chequers
Not the result we were looking for, but we certainly made our debut in the new pink kit in style! 🩷 🖤 Even assistant manager Mark Parker donned a full kit Terry-esque to get in the team photo!!
We started brightly and showed some really strong attacking form early doors, creating plenty of chances but unfortunately just couldn’t be clinical enough.
Ed Harrison got us off to a flyer with two early goals to put us 2–0 up, and he really should’ve had his hat-trick before half time! ⚽⚽ Will Oddy was also unlucky not to get on the scoresheet, hitting the post twice in the first half.
Tarleton managed to pull one back to make it 2–1 at half time, before levelling the game just five minutes into the second half.
From there, Tarleton hit a spell of goals that put some distance between the sides, but we refused to let our heads drop.
Caleb once again ran his absolute arse off as usual and, because apparently running himself into the ground wasn’t enough, even dropped into right back towards the end and put in a shift there too. 😂
Charlie seemed to play in pretty much every position possible as we tried to get ourselves back into the game, while Lewis Johnson is definitely starting to look more comfortable with every game and continues to show plenty of promise.
Despite the scoreline getting away from us, the lads kept battling and two late goals brought it back to 7–4, giving us a late glimpse of a comeback that unfortunately wasn’t to be.
A special mention has to go to Carl Duffy, who picked up his first yellow card in 30 years. A genuinely historic moment. 🟨😂

A frustrating result, but plenty of positives to take from our attacking play, the chances we created and the fight we showed right until the final whistle.
7–4 defeat, but we lost in style. 🩷 🖤
