There’s something really special about Tiny Toes Ballet. Yes, we’re here to teach little ones the foundations of ballet, but it’s so much more than that.

It’s the excitement of seeing the same little faces each week. The friendships that grow between our dancers. The grown-ups getting to know each other. The confidence that builds as children begin to find their feet, try something new and proudly show you what they can do.

Through our themes, stories, music, games and ballet, we create a space where children can be themselves, have fun and learn without even realising they’re learning.

And sometimes, you come for the ballet… but you leave with a new friend, a little more confidence and a whole lot of happy memories.

That’s what makes Tiny Toes Ballet so special. ✨

Look what we got up to in class this weekend! 🩰

Our Talent Toes and Twirlers & Spinners had lots of fun pretending to be a hungry wolf, slowly creeping up on the little piggies! 🐷

We used slow, extended ballet walks, focusing on moving with control and beginning to really pointe our feet with each step.

What looks like a fun game is also helping us develop important ballet skills such as foot articulation, balance, control, coordination and musicality.

At Tiny Toes Ballet, we love using imaginative games and stories to help children practise and develop their ballet technique in a way that feels fun, engaging and meaningful.

And this is one you can easily practise at home too — try your own slow, extended ballet walks, taking your time and really pointing those feet! 🩰🐺

🐺 Say hello to our Hungry Wolf from The Three Little Pigs!

Our wolf is an important part of our Fairytale Adventure, and we want our dancers to feel comfortable, confident and relaxed when meeting our fairytale characters.

So, we say hello to our wolf, give him a gentle stroke and rub our tummies just like him because he’s hungry… and we all know how that feels! 🤭

We try to avoid words like “big” and “bad” wolf and instead use relatable adjectives such as hungry, grey and fluffy. This helps our dancers understand the story and feel confident exploring the characters.

Many of the fairytales we explore have some interesting characters, and using simple, relatable adjectives helps bring them to life.

Why not try using some of these descriptive words at home too? 💭🐺

🩰✨ LOOK AT THIS BACK TO BALLET MAGIC… ✨🩰

Our Tiny Toes Ballet Warwickshire team have been SO impressed with our beautiful dancers! From our Twinkle Toes through to our Twirlers & Spinners, it has been wonderful to see returning faces and welcome lots of new dancers through our doors. 💕

We have been busy recapping some ballet basics — learning to bring our feet together on our spots in 6th position, take our feet wide into 2nd position, and kiss our heels together while imagining a pizza slice between our feet for 1st position! 🍕🩰

And look at those beautiful 5th position arms — we imagined we were building a big, strong brick house! 🧱💕

Our dancers did such a fantastic job demonstrating these skills, working independently and confidently while practising their ballet technique in the nurturing, fun environment which is what makes our Tiny Toes Ballet programme so special. ✨

We’ve also launched our NEW Twirlers & Spinners class on Fridays at 4pm in Houlton! 🎀 As you can see in these lovely photos 💖

🎓 It’s not just back to school for some of our lovely dancers… it’s back to school for our teachers too! 🩰

At Tiny Toes Ballet Warwickshire, we’re always learning, reviewing and reflecting because we want to keep making our unique Tiny Toes Ballet programme the very best it can be.

So, what makes the Tiny Toes Ballet programme so special?

It’s not simply about putting on a ballet class and teaching a few steps. Our programme is carefully designed around how children learn and develop, combining essential ballet skills and technique with imaginative themes, music, movement and storytelling.

Every exercise has a purpose. We think about what we’re teaching, why we’re teaching it and how we can make it meaningful, engaging and achievable for our dancers.

On Saturday morning, Miss Nichola led some teacher training where we reviewed exactly that — what makes the Tiny Toes Ballet programme special, why we do what we do and all the ways we can continue to improve our teaching and learning.

Because we’re always learning too! 💕

We can’t wait to bring all of this into our classes and see you back in the studio! 🩰✨
