Amazing sunshine this weekend!
I have ventured out once or twice, but truth be told, I've been living like a mole for the past few days! ππ₯΅
Hypermobile / EDS people...are you struggling too? Our condition often means we have poor temperature regulation. Interesting article here:
Understanding Dysautonomia in Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome | The EDS Clinic
Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) is widely recognized for its effect on the connective tissues, leading to joint hypermobility, skin elasticity, and often, chronic pain. However, for many individuals, the impact goes beyond these physical symptoms. One of the more complex and challenging conditions that...

And just like that, itβs half term again! βοΈ
Itβs been a fantastic few weeks with so many people gleefully telling me how much stronger they are compared to when they first started coming to classes with me.
This is one of the biggest privileges of teaching; hearing peopleβs stories about what Pilates has done for them.
Things like:
πΉ grandchildren trying to keep up with granny as she practices at home
πΉ no longer having knee pain, back pain, neck pain, hip pain
πΉ being able to touch their toes or do a full sit-up
πΉ simply feeling far more nimble when they go for a walk
For my neuro clients, itβs all of the above plus:
πΉ being able to turn over more easily in bed
πΉ no longer losing their balance and falling
πΉ getting dressed more easily
πΉ standing up from a deep sofa without using their hands.
This is why I teach Pilates and especially why I teach it using the advanced techniques I continue to study at The Neuro Studio/Pilates for Neurological Conditions.
πππ
Iβve loved Pilates for over 20 years and I love the results it gives the people who come to my classes.

Just popping in to say that all my 1-1 sessions are now fully booked for the term, so I have no availability left for private sessions until August.
If you'd like to join the waiting list for potential cancellations, please email me:
[email protected]
I love 1-1 sessions and typically see between 10-12 people each week.
Image shows the lovely Jane practicing specific hand exercises to help her shoulder respond better, which in turn eases her back pain, which then improves her walking gait.
Everything is connected.
Learn how to move smarter and feel better. Get on the waiting list for 1-1 sessions or join a class today. π

What do Pilates teachers do when they're having "a week off"?
πΉ Attend training courses! My clients always groan when I say I'm on a course. π
Currently, I'm enrolled in a 12-month mentorship programme with The Neuro Studio/Pilates for Neurological Conditions, so there is lots to catch up on and also attend live this week, which is VERY exciting!
πΉ Lesson Planning! I always have a development plan for each term, which I tweak over the half term based on how everyone is progressing in each class.
The exercises that people struggle with on Week 1 soon become a breeze with the specific cueing techniques I use in all my classes! π
πΉ Volunteering! There's always something to organise for the lovely Positively Parkinson's Support CafΓ© - Hemyock, Devon that I run each month along with my fabulous friend, Peta. We have wonderful guest speakers booked for the year, plus we are making plans for World Parkinson's Day on April 11th. βΊοΈ
πΉ Life Admin! Not much time for this during term time, so my week off is usually sprinkled with various appointments.
πΉ Hanging out with my son! My absolute favourite thing to do. The years fly by and I want to make the most of them. I haven't had any parents since I was in my 20's, so family time is incredibly important to me. π
What's everyone else up to? π

WOW! SO proud of my Monday evening classes tonight! Not only did they come out on a yucky cold and wet night, but they truly excelled at everything I threw at them.
We used peripheral vision and cranial nerve activation for almost all of our Classical Pilates exercises and everyone was able to do things they normally struggle with.
The Hundred
Roll Up
Single Leg Circle
Rolling Like a Ball
Single Leg Stretch
Open Leg Rocker
Swan
One Leg Kick
Shoulder Bridge (in full)

Totally fabulous!! Well done, everyone! ππ€©π₯³
