This is a little glimpse of what and who I am.
I am Mum to 2 wonderful little girls - they fill my cup up so much.... but they can also drain it!
I am a wife to a very busy man who has to travel a lot.
There's all the household things that need doing, laundry, cooking, cleaning, cutting the grass (oh my goodness the lawn desperately needs mowing! There's also 3 bags of laundry which need sorting, and tbh I haven't cleaned the breakfast things away yet either!).
I am a yoga teacher, which brings me so much joy. Teaching you all is a real pleasure! but I'm also running a business and the admin, answering messages, planning, accounting etc (all the boring sides of business) take a lot of time.
I am also a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, a friend, all roles that I love, but I also have a busy life and feel guilty when I don't call often enough or check-in with people.
I have become cat woman.... I mean 'cat mum' this year, they make me slow down, even when I don't want to....like when I'm trying to do my admin and they sit on my lap and demand to be stroked.
What has all of this got to do with yoga?
Yoga is more than just a physical practice on the mat, there's also the philosophy of yoga.
To put it really simply we have the yamas and niyamas which provide guidance on how to live life off the mat.
The 4th Yama is Brahmacharya which in a modern context is about the moderation of how and where we use our energy... finding our personal balance points!
Life is a balancing act which is always moving! It can be wonderful, it can be draining, it can be overwhelming.
If you need a morning just for you, where you get to practice gentle yoga, eat cake and drink tea, and have proper time to reflect and review how you can bring more balance currently in your life, then I'd love for you to join me Saturday 26th September, Dunholme Village Hall 09.00 - 12.00. £50pp
