🥋 4th Degree+ Senior Training Day | Saturday 19th September
It was great to see so many senior practitioners gather under one roof for a dedicated day of high-level training. Led by Grand Master Nicholls and supported by an experianced Masters and Grand Masters, the seminar offered a fantastic platform to exchange knowledge and refine technique, with a deep focus on senior patterns.
Following an opening welcome from GM Nicholls, Master Horan set the standard early by leading the floor through a traditional warm-up. It was truly inspiring to see so many UK and international Masters stepping onto the mats eager to train with a student’s mindset.
The morning kicked off with an in-depth breakdown of 4th Degree Tul, focusing on four to five crucial corrections and giving members the floor to ask technical questions. From there, the energy picked up with pad work targeting clean striking lines and impact feedback, followed by a standout moment as the Masters performed Tong-Il together as a group. Their dedication and energy set a benchmark for everyone in the room. Work on 5th and 6th Degree patterns rounded off a demanding first half before a well-earned lunch break.
The afternoon resumed with a technical kicking session led by Master Sheehan, who delivered invaluable teaching drills and insights that instructors will definitely take back to their own clubs.
The day drew to a close with a focused segment on pattern footwork, concentrating on precise positioning, pivoting mechanics, and clean transitions.
A sincere thank you goes to every senior grade who brought their passion and effort to the mats, with special appreciation to our international guests traveling from Ireland and Germany to support the event. Fantastic training, shared knowledge, and camaraderie throughout.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the next one! 👊
