There are many reasons for strength training, but the main one, for me, is to be capable of doing every day tasks such as carrying this lot from the car to the end of the garden! Now to open all these bags and spread the stones so it looks pretty near the studio…tomorrow’s task I think 🤔

Woke up thinking “it’s much cooler this morning, I can cope with this, I’ll go for a run”…but maybe it’s not as cool as I thought 🤣🥵

Shorter early morning walk today, taking it easier…and the same principle will apply to my classes this week so everyone can keep moving but not push themselves too hard in the heat! Take care everyone 🥵 ☀️

Summer Drinks 2026! What a beautiful evening, full of laughter & chat and not a burpee or plank in sight 😉
We missed those of you who couldn’t be there! Thanks everyone 🎉

Why do you exercise?
Is it to stay strong, lift your mood, improve your sleep, tone up or lose weight?
It can help with all of the above, but more importantly it can mean fewer aches & pains as you grow older & simply more enjoyment out of life because you are able to do so much more. And that’s hard to quantify but it’s true!

One of my clients just sent me a testimonial, so I thought I would share it…

I stumbled across Anne-Sophie's classes whilst searching for fitness workouts in the Coney Hall area. She offers a variety of classes including Strength, Pilates and Barre, which are available both in her lovely garden studio or online. Anne-Sophie is very warm, friendly, caring and professional. She genuinely wants to personalise your fitness journey and always checks in, even between sessions to make sure all is well. If you need any fitness or nutritional advise she is more than happy to help. Her classes are reasonably priced, not too long but very efficient! You certainly feel that you have worked very hard in as little as 30 minutes. I would highly recommend the classes for beginners as well as seasoned pros and they are great for someone who prefers the personal touch from a small business within our local community. At age 47, and having had a break from the gym for two years, I have regained my confidence with fitness and working out, thanks to this lovely lady!

Well done to all of you who have carried on with your exercise routine through January, always a challenging month what with poor weather and usually not much to look forward to! Stick to your plan as regularly as you can, it does and will pay off not just now but for the rest of your life!

We're mid-January and sometimes this is when so-called new year resolution starts to fall apart.
Let's face it, it's been cold and wet (mostly), you're probably going in to work when it's still dark outside and coming home it's also dark! Not an easy combination to feel motivated to move one's body.
However, doing just a few minutes of mouvement every day will make a difference. Not only is it good for your body (your joints in particular will thank you!), but it will lift your mood too.

Consistency is what matters, so even if you only have 10 to 15 minutes to spare on a daily basis, can you use this time to go for a walk? If you don't want to go outside (too dark & wet) try some squats or lunges, press ups against a wall (or kitchen counter), use your stairs to do some simple step up and down. If you love dancing, put some music on and have fun!
It may feel a bit weird at first but give it a try, find what makes you feel good and aim to do it every day. I guarantee you will notice the difference in your wellbeing.
If on one day you don't manage to stick to your plan, don't think you have failed, go back to it the following day. Developing new habits is hard so keep it short and as regular as you can would be my advice. Good luck!
