Boxing is another good way I like to get cardio in 🥊

I like to keep it simple and throw the same combinations / techniques for a few minutes for 2-3 sets with a minute or two rest inbetween so technique doesn’t too bad 👎🏻

30-45 minutes can fly by when doing this and it will get your heart rate right up with a good sweat on 😅

Great for fast twitch fibres and timing 💥

Always good skills to keep sharp as well ⚔️

No high kicks today Leg DOMS hitting me hard from Thursday 😬

Day 1 shredding 🔪

Pics taken Saturday after feuling and training after the fast 📸

Back to old school weights sessions to get in shape for Summer 💪🏼

Why I prefer weights to get in and stay in shape 🏋️

• hits muscles better, maintains their strength and size ✔️

• easier to recover from so can train more frequent ✔️

• less stress on the nervous system ✔️

• great for hormone production ✔️

• great for metabolic rate ✔️

A good old school Chest & Tricep session today. Some MCing came on my bounce playlist I was listening to and dare I say I even enjoyed that as well 😬🎤😆

72 Hour Fast Completed ✅

This was a lot harder than I remembered it being having done it once before 😬

Lots of people have been asking me about it so here are a few points -

• The main part I love about it is the mental challenge. ANYONE can do this challenge you don’t have to be fit, strong or in shape you just need the mental strength to get 3 days with no food.

It definitely sharpens the mindset ⚔️

• I’ve only drank Peppermint and Liqourice herbal tea and water during this period.

• It can effect your sleep pattern so be aware of that.

• I am a caffeine addict so having no caffeine makes it harder as well.

• Energy goes up and down whilst doing it some times you feel absolutely nackered and sometimes you feel fine. Right now at the end of the fast I feel as good as I’ve felt throughout it.

• I did train once on day 2 just a simple Pull Ups and Dips session you could definetly train weights steady doing this. Have more rest than normal inbetween sets.

• keep your mind busy and don’t get bored! When your bored is when you start thinking of food or how hungry you feel.

DAY 1 - mad hunger urges mid day and tea time but it’s only a day so you know you can get through it.

DAY 2 - the toughest day for me. Only half way there. Bad energy slumps throughout the day. Going to bed starving.

Day 3 - the easiest day. Countdown mode is on. Not had any ups or downs at any point of the day.

I use this as a good reset for myself so now it’s time to refocus on work, training and lose a few more KG’s for summer time 😎💪🏼

Today I am starting a 72 hour fast - no food for 3 days ❌

These are the 3 main benefits I get personally from doing this -

• gives my digestive system a good rest ✔️

• keeps my self discipline in check ✔️

• sets me up to eat better again after it ✔️

There a lots of other benefits if you look into it as well 👍🏼

Recently I’ve become sick of the editing, filters and perfectionism portrayed by influencers on Instagram 📲

It’s gives people the wrong impression of what can be achieved all year round 💪🏼

My current shape is very easily achievable as long as you just stay consistent with training 🏋️

My current training and eating routine has been average at best as other jobs have been prioritised 👎🏻

Buy my philosophy is you should always be able maintain a half decent shape and strength just by showing up consistently 👍🏼

You don’t have to be in peak shape, strength or fitness all year round, this is also very hard to do unless you are a professional athlete 🏃‍♂️

But you should be able to make some small, simple changes that will get you there in 4-6 weeks 👊🏼

If your also sick of the online fitness BS then give me a follow for some real life and down to earth advice and coaching 👍🏼

Manchester Half Marathon ✅

I’ve never really enjoyed running to get certain times I enjoy running just to run but the atmosphere of the Manchester Marathons are first class and makes you want to run them every year just for the support and buzz you get on the way round! 🤩

Holly’s first Half Marathon without any training for it. I roped her into it just a few days before saying to her you might as well join me instead of waiting around and spectating so she took the bold step and did just that. She absolutely smashed it and didn’t stop once on the way round, super proud of her ❤️

Another great race done 🙂 with the right support and your own belief you can achieve your goals 💪🏼👍🏼

UPPER BODY DUMBBELL FINISHER 🔥

Great little upper body blast for the end of your workout 💪🏼

Get your heart rate right up too 😅

When you first start lifting you don’t have to go too heavy to get stronger 🏋️

Focus on compound lifts and get good at these as quick as you can ✔️

Learn to move the weight under control with good form and range of motion ✔️

Isolation exercises and machines can still help as a beginner ✔️

Once you master the basics, learn how to do these in more advanced ways and increased range of motion ✔️

Progressive overload is always the key, steadily increase your weights on the big lifts over time ✔️

My body shape hasn’t changed that much over the past few years of training.

After a good few years of training there will be a genetic limit that you will reach and when you reach it, it will become very hard to keep changing your body shape much after that.

A few added kg’s of body fat over winter time and a few less over the summer time but apart from that not much else.

But more importantly what else hasn’t changed is I am still fully capable of everything in the gym.

No major injuries or lasting niggles, no bandages or supports when I need to train everything still in good working order.

I can still do every exercise I’ve ever done and some even better now too.

These days I am realising that this is becoming more and more important for me to train for longevity.

Training not only keeps my body in shape and ticking over but also stimulates my mind and puts me in a good mindset which I’ve come to realise is very important when you work yourself.

That’s why I always encourage weight training for everybody or any ability or any age. You can weight train safely for all of your life if you train smart with it 💪👍
