Whitby U14’s travelled all the way to Bishop Auckland yesterday,

What perfect conditions it was to play a glorious game of football,

We started off the game really really well although we went 1-0 down early we got one back minutes later to make it 1-1 and was end to end football and we went in at the break drawing,

Came out second half more of the same end to end football was a great game then bishop scored a great goal from outside the box to go 2-1 in front, we dug deep and brought it back with a great ball over the top from Kobie to set Sunley on his way and he bagged us another goal to bring it back to 2-2 then moments later Sunley was played through again and he took it round the keeper to go inches wide to put us in the lead,

was a really really good game, conceded in final 5 mins but the effort and determination of the lads was unbelievable and i couldn’t be more proud of the team they have became

Fisherman’s U13’s match report🚨:

Today the U13s took the short trip to Redcar to play newly promoted Redcar town royals, the boys started well but struggled to find the final ball going forwards, the game was evenly matched until a long ball from Redcar saw our defence caught and a well taken goal from Redcar saw us 1-0 down, however the boys had a great reaction to this through some great work from Robbie to earn us a corner resulting in a goal. The second half brought us chances but they were few and far between, it wasn’t until Redcar regained the lead that the team snapped into action but unfortunately this time we couldn’t find a response.

MOM today was Robbie, Robbie fought tirelessly all game but it was his magic on the ball that sees him pick today’s MOM up, making it look easy at times to pick passes and go past players in a game where quality lacked.

Special mention to both goalkeepers today as Ewan pulled off a phenomenal save that was then matched by Oli in the second half to keep us in the game capped off a very impressive performance from both of our GK’s today.

After having a pre-season break and extra weeks wait Whitby Fishermen’s U9’s kicked off the new season at home to a familiar and always tough opponent in Riverside Juniors Milan.

From the second they turned up the boys had the right attitude to go out and put on a great performance, covering every inch of the pitch and fighting for every ball. The hard work paid off when Luca got his wand of a right foot on a corner, delivering a lovely front post ball that Wilf met with a cool left footed shot into the net.

With something to hold on to, the boys kept digging deep with an excellent defensive performance led by the returning Oliver, taking responsibility for ensuring no Milan player could get a clear run on the fishermen’s goal. As the first half went on fishermen’s pushed up the pitch looking for a second, they didn’t have long to wait when Archie M got brought down it was time for new recruit Teddy to show his quality, smashing the resulting free kick into the top corner leaving the keeper no chance.

After the break the boys stepped up another gear, Eddie was full of energy buzzing around and hassling non stop, the hard work almost paid off with one strike going narrowly wide and another drawing an excellent save from the Milan goalkeeper. Archie B showed his shot stopping ability in the game making sure his goal was safe, the pick of the bunch as a full stretch dive and a strong hand to deny a shot destined for the corner.

Fishermen’s kept at it to see the game out with tireless work from Wilf almost rewarded with a second goal but got an excellent goal line clearance. Luca showed more battle and fight alongside his quality on the ball and Oliver kept tackling anything that moved.

The third and final fishermen’s goal came when a cleared corner came back to Archie M who composed himself and delivered a pin point cross to Teddy waiting at the back post to tuck away his second of the game.

A welcome return to Sunday football and an excellent performance by all of the players on both teams!

The U15s were looking to bounce back from their opening-day defeat against Whinney Banks, and the lads certainly delivered today.

We got off to a fantastic start thanks to an unbelievable strike from Justin. Fin made a great save just before half time which meant we went into half time 1-0 up.

The second half saw us come out flying, with Connor R adding an early second before Alex completed the scoring with a third.

Today was a superb performance from start to finish. The lads showed that they can mix it physically, competed for everything and applied themselves brilliantly throughout the game. They worked hard as a team, defended when needed and saw the game out professionally.

Every player contributed to what was a fantastic team performance. Man of the Match could genuinely have gone to any of the lads, but Sam was awarded it for his outstanding efforts down the left-hand side. 👏

Superb effort from everyone today, a thoroughly deserved result! 💪⚽

⚽ Match Report – Darlington Young Bulls
What a fantastic effort from the lads today! 👏⚽
The boys put in a brilliant team performance from start to finish, with every player working hard, giving their all and, most importantly, working together as a team.
It was great to see them putting into practice everything the coaches have been working on in training. The passing, movement and willingness to find a teammate really stood out, with the lads beginning to understand how important it is to play for each other and move the ball as a team.
There were plenty of goals scored and lots of fantastic individual performances, but the biggest positive was seeing just how much the boys are developing and improving with every game. Their confidence is growing, and the progress they are making in such a short space of time is fantastic to see.
Overall, a brilliant fixture against Darlington Young Bulls and another great step forward for the team. The effort, attitude and teamwork shown by every player made the coaches and everyone watching very proud.
Keep working hard, keep listening, keep enjoying your football — and most importantly, keep having fun! 💙⚽👏
