β½οΈβͺοΈπ΅ MATCH REPORTβ½οΈπ΅βͺοΈ
Saturday 11th April
The final game of our first ever season saw us take on a familiar foe in South Shields Buzzers.
We'd faced them twice already this season, beating them in the league but losing to them in the cup.
So this one was important for a couple of reasons
Win and we take the mini series 2-1 and also guarantee an 11th place finish.
We wanted to start the game strong and we did that in style.
A long range effort from Lats put us 1 up on 5 mins.
Just a minute later and a well worked move was finished off by the always non-stop John Sutcliffe.
The momentum continued with Scotty bagging out 3rd goal in as many minutes,
The Buzzers regrouped and stemmed the flow of goals and to their credit, they kept battling and stood strong when they could have easily let their heads drop.
Going in 3-0 at the break, the half time message was simple, keep working hard and don't allow ourselves to be complacent.
A few early changes in the 2nd half reaped the awards virtually straight away.
JD coming on to set up Gaz, also newly introduced to the game to make it 4-0.
The other main notable moment in the latter stages of the game was a superb, full length, cat like save by Doug which allowed us to achieve our 4th clean sheet and win in our last 5 games.
A superb way to finish off the season and now allows the lads to rest up for few weeks, on a high and with great optimism for next season.
We cannot wait and we'd like to thank everyone who has played any part in this season.
Whether you've been to our games to support us, watched our highlights online or interacted on any of our posts, we could not be more grateful and we can't wait to have you along for the ride during the 2026/27 season.
Thank you one and all and for one last time......
