FCB Hoops Girls put in a strong performance yesterday against Golborne, dominating from the first whistle and creating plenty of chances throughout but just couldn’t find the back of the net 🤯

The girls battled brilliantly in the rising temperatures and never gave up but unfortunately a late goal for Golborne meant it ended in a frustrating defeat 😏

Special mentions to our goal keeper Jessica for some outstanding saves and to Alice making her Hoops debut.

No Girl of the Game today — every single player earned that recognition with their effort, attitude, and teamwork 👏⚽💙

Heads stay high as Hoops push on towards the final few league games, this Thursday evening against Burscough Wolves and then with all eyes also to the League Cup Final on 30th May! 🏆 💙 🩵 💛 🩷

A wet and windy morning at FC Burscough, The Hoops were back playing in the Wigan league and put in a determined display to continue their winning form.
A strong performance with victory secured with a goal from Millie and a well-taken brace from Robyn. At the other end of the pitch goalkeeper Jessica made some key saves to keep the Hoops in the game.

What a season it’s been — full of quality, competition, and brilliant football across the Premier League. Every team has stepped up, making it one to remember from start to finish.

This now sets up a massive occasion, as Hoops head into their second League Cup Final… and it’s shaping up to be a repeat of last season’s clash with Burscough Wolves. Two top sides, ready to go toe to toe once again.

After finishing as runners-up last season, the question is… can Hoops go one step further this time?

It may sound repetitive, but this group of girls continues to deserve every bit of praise they get. Week after week during our cup campaign they have shown up & given everything to their game and yesterday was no different a great performance from start to finish.
A strong attacking display with an early goal from Holly S followed by a brace from
Layla & a hat trick from Phoebe.
After a challenging first half of the season, disrupted by injuries, the initial goal for the second half was simply to reach the final of the Wigan U13 Champions Cup. However, the Hoops have gone above and beyond finishing the cup fixtures at the top of the table, an incredible achievement that reflects the teams hard work at training and on the football pitch.

What a performance from the girls today—absolutely outstanding from start to finish. With only one sub, it would have been easy for heads to drop or energy levels to dip, but every single player showed incredible determination to win this game.
The effort and attitude across the team was exceptional. They dug deep, worked tirelessly for one another, and battled for every ball right up until the final whistle for a thoroughly deserved win.
Goals from Freya, Millie, and Phoebe sealed the victory, capping off a brilliant team display.
A special mention to Athena and Kat, who both put in tremendous performances today, working relentlessly and winning key battles all over the pitch.

The Hoops were back continuing their league cup run 💪⚽
After going into halftime 1-0 down, the girls regrouped and came out fighting in the second half. A solid defensive display kept us in the game and gave us the platform to push on.
Robyn pulled us level with a great equaliser before Freya smashed home a brilliant volley created from a class through ball from Lara, and a cracking cross by winger Holly S to secure a 2-1 win!

FC Britannia Hoops 2 V Burscough Wolves 5

Hoops battled hard in an entertaining cup clash against Burscough Wolves last weekend, but ultimately fell to defeat despite a promising start.

The match began brightly for Hoops, who looked sharp and composed in the first half. Their pressure paid off when Phoebe found the breakthrough, finishing confidently to give Hoops a deserved 1–0 lead heading into the break ⚽️

However, the second half brought an early setback. Wolves came out with intensity and turned the game on its head, scoring twice in quick succession to take a 2–1 lead and shift the momentum.

To their credit, Hoops responded with determination. A moment of real quality from Robyn brought them level, as she struck brilliantly to make it 2–2 and reignited hopes ⚽️

Despite the fightback, Wolves regained control and capitalised on their chances, adding further goals to pull away and secure the win.

It was a tough result for Hoops after such a positive start to their cup run, but there were plenty of encouraging signs in their performance. With another cup fixture on the horizon this weekend, the team will be looking to regroup, take the positives, and come back stronger 💪
