Well done Alex on top goal scorer. Started the season playing in midfield and defence to cover a difficult spell. Took his first chance up front with 4 goals against hindley town and hasnt looked back since. 20 goals for the season. ⚽️

Final game of the season against a well organised and hard working team. We started slowly and the Lions intensity and good passing game saw us go down 3 goals within 15 minutes. Some adjustments and encouragement and the lads attitude was excellent to drag ourselves back into the game with two well worked goals from Alex and Euan. 3-2 at half time and all to play for. We continued to create chances in the second half and pulled level after a great free kick from bobby that tino got on the end of. Some great wing play and through balls which almost saw us take the lead with some close shots. Alex worked hard all game and was taken out twice in the box from behind when clear through. Unlucky not to be awarded at least one penalty! It was a competitive game and lions retook the lead, but we continued to fight to the end and jack almost pulled one back with a shot cleared off the line. Well done to tino and euan on joint parents player. Tino was a threat all game and worked hard down the wing. Euan was excellent in midfield with a battling perfomance, also rewarded with coaches player of the match. Tino and alex were also given recognition as opposition players of the match. Both were excellent in attack and made the opposition work hard all game. Despite the outcome a great competitive game to end the season which could have ended either way for which the boys should be proud of. With 7 wins and 2 draws in the 2nd half of the season it shows how far we have come as a team in our first season. Well done to everyone and good luck to cherrybrook lions in their upcoming cup final! ⚽️❤️👏👏

Well done to the lads on a hard earned 9-4 win today against Golborne Pumas in the penultimate game of the season. I thought we started the game excellently and dominated for 15 minutes. Jack finished a well worked move that involved almost the whole team which was a pleasure to see. We continued to make chance after chance and took a deserved second through tino. It felt like we got a bit complacent after that and started to try and be fancy in front of goal instead of playing the simple ball that had been working well. We could and should have been well clear by 20mins. The game swung after pumas got a goal back and they were fired up to take a 3-2 lead into the break. We had some strong words at half time to motivate the lads and remind them to play as a team. Second half we were fantastic from start to finish and scored 7 goals. It was a small pitch, but we managed to stretch the game and put in some great crosses and through balls, whilst defending solidly. Coaches player went to tino who scored 5 goals and created several others with some great balls..including a well taken penalty. Parents player went to max , which was fully deserved. I think he was excellent at full back and nulified golbornes main threat. He also threatened and scored a great goal when he had a spell up front. Jack scored a well taken shot for his second goal and Alex finished things off with a looping shot from distance. Well done to all ⚽️🔥👍
