After another frustrating three-week break without a fixture, Shevington Sharks made the trip to Oldham St Anne’s for a friendly to get some valuable game time under their belts.
The Sharks ran out convincing 52–0 winners, producing a dominant performance without ever needing to get out of first gear. It was a professional display from start to finish, with plenty of positives to take into the weeks ahead.
Full credit goes to Oldham St Anne’s, who knew they were coming up against a very strong Sharks side. Despite the scoreline, every Oldham player showed great character, dug deep, and never took a backward step throughout the game. Their effort and determination deserved plenty of respect.
For the Sharks, the match was the perfect opportunity to blow away the cobwebs ahead of a huge spell in the season. With three tough fixtures coming up, including a semi-final, the focus now turns to maintaining standards and preparing to give everything in the bid to reach another final.
A solid afternoon’s work for the Sharks, who now look ahead to the challenges that really matter. Next up is Hindley as we return home to Shark Park. We’d love to see plenty of support on the sidelines, so come down and get behind the boys!
