Fishing an intimate private estate lake, with extremely spooky fish, I had to think outside the box to trip up this fish. Fishing a small back channel that goes round an island at the far end of the lake, I lowered an ID3 hookbait into 2 feet of water, with 10 free offerings around it. 1 hour later, the rod ripped off, and this beautiful 35lb 1oz common was in the net!
