One question I’m occasionally asked is:
“Is once a week enough?”
For the vast majority of children (and adults)… absolutely.
Would someone training twice a week progress a little faster? Of course. Three times a week faster still.
But martial arts is only one part of life.
Children have swimming, football, dance, music, Cubs, birthdays, school commitments and, most importantly, family time. Adults have work, families and countless other responsibilities.
That’s why at Wi******er School of Martial Arts the standard membership starts with Bronze, based on attending once a week. If you have the time and want to train more, there are Silver (twice weekly) and Gold (three or more sessions) options.
My aim has never been to make families feel they have to train multiple times a week. I’d much rather see someone attend consistently once a week, enjoy every lesson and make steady progress than feel under pressure to attend more often than life realistically allows.
After all, martial arts is a journey, not a race. Personal progress is what matters most.
