Sadly I have to advise of the passing away of Walter Wessely, who will be sorely missed by members and supporters of WSEH.
Wal joined the Club as an athlete in the mid 1960’s and then became more deeply involved, using his accountancy skills to take on the role for several years of Club Treasurer.
When the club move to TVAC he maintained close contact with the Club, acting as an Official at home meetings.
His funeral takes place at Slough Crematorium at 2.00pm on Tuesday 20th October.

Danny might not be here with us today, but will never be forgotten

Danny Hodge, was a former British Teakwood champion, turned track athlete and is the first to be inducted into the WSEH AC Hall of fame.
Danny was a former senior men's 400m hurdles club record holder and then a very successful coach, guiding many to county and national finals and medals including 2 English schools champions and a bronze medalist.
As a masters athlete Danny won a bronze over the 400m hurdles and took a silver medal in the 4 x 400m relay too.
Danny passed away earlier this year (2021) after suffering from a massive heart attack brought on by long term chronic heart disease which just makes all his athletic achievements even more impressive 👏.
Danny was not just a fine around athlete and coach, but one of the most well known and popular members of the club and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
