Just further to the amazing news about Mallory and the 2020 Olympics, you may not be aware that actually she is the second Windsor member to be selected for the Olympic team. Martyn Hedges made the team for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, which was held on the same course where Mal secured her place today, in the C1M class, but tragically died a couple of weeks before the event. The '92 Olympics was when slalom was re-introduced after a long absence, and Mal will be racing in the C1W class which is being introduced at Tokyo 2020. Twenty eight years later, it'll be lovely to see the circle closed... Paul.

Hi all, the guys from Plas Y Brenin (https://www.pyb.co.uk) have offered club members some free coaching and use of the demo boats at WhiteWater the Canoe Centre in Shepperton (https://www.whitewaterthecanoecentre.co.uk) in the afternoon on Saturday the 5th of October, you'd just need to bring yourself and kit (you're welcome to borrow buoyancy aids from the club as long as you let us know and they are returned). If you're interested please post here so we can let them know if anyone is coming. Obviously this is to drum up some business for the courses run by PYB (they do weekend intros to white water), and the shop over at Shepperton.
